Now that the iPhone 5 event has been officially scheduled for October 4th, in less than a week we will finally be able to take our first glimpse at Apple's next generation iPhone. But even though that the iPhone event is officially declared as up and coming, there are still reports and rumors regarding the iPhone 5. According to recently published report, a new iPod touch as well as two new iPhones will be introduced at Apple's "Let's Talk iPhone" event.
The report came straight from Apple intelligence blog 9to5Mac claiming that they have sources who were to able to take a peek at Apple's internal inventory system. Two items in the said inventory system will be announced during the company's upcoming iPhone event in the 4th of October. The first device that was cited in the report was the new iPod touch. Allegedly, three new iPod touch models have been spotted in the system going by the codename N81A. N81 is the codename for the current generation black iPod touch (4th Gen), and according to 9to5Mac the "A" in the codename likely represents the string of three new white iPod touch models according to storage capacity. So basically, the new iPod touch will be the white variation which also means that there will no new update to the current black iPod touch 4th gen if this report is any indication.
But perhaps the more interesting portion of the report is that two new iPhone SKUs have been seen in the internal inventory system. The downside is, these two new SKUs are actually labeled as tweaked iPhone 4s. The new device is codenamed N90A. N90 is the codename for the current iPhone 4 which indicates that the N90A is still an iPhone 4 but with modest upgrades. It is speculated that this could be the rumored low-end iPhone 4 with 8GB internal storage. It could be possible that the two new SKUs refer to the black and white models.
If this is the case, then it could be really disappointing if the much awaited announcement turns out to be a mildly updated iPhone 4. Well there's really no use beating yourself with this particular report, we will just have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us with their upcoming iPhone event. Remember folks, October 4th is the date and we will finally see the highly anticipated next generation iPhone. [via 9to5Mac]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
