One of the main advantages of jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is the ability to install various jailbreak tweaks which can make the user experience in the iOS less frustrating. Some of which are not possible just by simply scouring the iTunes App Store. Now we have a neat jailbreak tweak for you that not only lets you quickly access your favorite apps quickly but could also potentially improve how you manage your applications.

With iOS applications, it not exactly unheard of that there are many alternative apps that are simply superior to the native / stock ones. For example, many people would use Instagram or Camera+ rather than using the default Camera app of the iOS. The same is through with Twitter, there are many users who would rather use other Twitter clients rather than the official app due to the extra functionalities and other advantages. But these default / official apps can't be or not advisable to be uninstalled so they simply take up space in your Springboard. Ever wish that you can use these extra icons so you will be redirected to your preferred choice of apps instead?
OpenOther Plus Tweak
Well here's a tweak that might just be for you. Introducing the OpenOther+ jailbreak tweak. Basically what this app can do is let the user assign a completely different app in a certain icon. So that when it is tapped / launched, it will redirect you to the app that you have assigned. Take for example the default Camera app of the iOS. With OpenOther+, you can assign either Camera+ or Instagram into the icon shortcut of the native Camera app. So when you tap on the Camera app icon, it will launch Camera+ or Instagram instead. If you are still confused as to how the tweak works, you can check out this video demo from the creator:

Assigning your shortcuts can be done entirely from the home screen. To start assigning shortcuts, just tap and hold any icon from the home screen until they start jiggling. Now tap on the application icon that you wish to assign a shortcut to and then navigate to and tap the icon that you want to be redirected into. And that is pretty much it.

This tweak however does have a few drawbacks. Since there is no real way to manage your shortcuts due to the lack of configuration settings, it can become unwieldy once you have already added too many shortcuts over time. And another drawback is the price of the tweak itself which is $1.99, which some may find a bit expensive for such a simple tweak. But then again, many users would find this tweak useful that they won't mind the price. And this

To install and start using OpenOther+, you need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch first.
