As you all know, Apple has already seeded the seventh pre-release version of their upcoming mobile operating system iOS 5. And as usual, with every iOS 5 beta released, it comes with the corresponding update to iTunes 10.5 as well. If you are a developer and planning to update to iOS 5 beta 7, then you should definitely download and install iTunes 10.5 beta 7.
Just yesterday, Apple rolled out an update for iTunes called iTunes 10.5 beta 6.1 which included a beta for a feature that comes with their iCloud service, iTunes Match. This particular feature allow users to mirror their entire iTunes library using iCloud in addition to being able to convert their songs for a higher quality, DRM free AAC format music file.
Unlike yesterday's update, iTunes 10.5 beta 7 does not include any major changes or new features. As stated, this is a software released that comes with iOS 5 beta 7. So aside from a few minor changes and enhancements, the main purpose of iTunes 10.5 beta 7 is compatibility with iOS 5 beta 7. If you are updating to the latest iOS 5 beta, keep in mind that you won't be able sync your device using previous version of iTunes. So needless to say, if you are grabbing the latest firmware update be sure that you install the latest iTunes 10.5 beta as well.
And of course, since this is a beta version of an upcoming software, access is exclusive to those who have registered an account over at Apple's iOS Dev Center. Being an iOS developer may seem like a daunting task but the truth is, you only need one requirement so you can register for an account. Being a developer means you need to pay a flat rate annual fee of $99. And that's pretty much it. Basically anyone can register for an account whether or not they actually know how to develop iOS applications. In addition to having access to software and firmware betas, you will be provided with an extensive number of tools and documentation which are instrumental to developer your own apps. It is a good investment not only for developers but for iOS enthusiasts as well.
iOS 5 beta 7 is highly likely the last pre-release version of Apple's upcoming mobile operating system. Back when it was highlighted in last June's WWDC, it was also announced by the Cupertino giant that iOS 5 will be released this fall. iOS 5 packs quite a punch in terms of features as it includes various new ones like the new Notifications Center, deep Twitter integration, iMessage, News Stand, AirPlay Mirroring and many more. Such features in sight is enough to make any iOS fan drool with anticipation. iOS 5 will be released this October alongside the next iPhone.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
