If you have been paying attention to the news about the iPhone 5, then you are probably aware that it won't be long before we could finally take a glimpse of it. This is of course because Apple will be holding their "Let's Talk iPhone" event on October 4 and will be held in no other than Apple's HQ in Cupertino. As of today, no one can really give any official word regarding how the iPhone 5 will look but that doesn't stop the creative types from creating their own mock-up version of the highly anticipated device.
Since Apple isn't throwing us a bone with regards to how the iPhone 5 looks, the folks over at BENM.AT went ahead and created their own version of the iPhone 5. And boy it does look good. This iPhone 5 mockup is actually based from the many rumors and leaks from the past months, so there's a slight chance that the design would be somehow similar to the final product. According to the creators, the process that was used to create the prototype is similar to the one that is used on the iPad. This prototype was machined with a solid block of aluminum and then was treated with glass pearls to achieve the same slight rough texture of the iPad.
As you can see, this prototype has implemented some of the most notable rumors about the iPhone 5 for the past few months. First is the tear drop design that was first brought to us by the folks of The Verge. Yes, the teardrop design is definitely not that pronounced but if you're going to look closely at the photos, you'll see that it is there. Another notable change for this iPhone 5 mockup is the elongated oval shaped Home button. This was based from the leaked cases that we have been seeing previously. There are some speculations that Apple will also introduce new gesture based commands just for the home button which could help with multi-tasking.
This iPhone 5 mockup as expected is wider and thinner than the current iPhone 4 which is also have been a prominent part of previous rumors. This mockup also features a larger 4 inch touchscreen display. According to the creator, even if it is wider than the iPhone 4, the device feels more compact and easier to handle.
Based on the these photos and I'm sure you'll agree with me that this is one of the best looking iPhone 5 mockup that was brought to our attention. This prototype just oozes class and sophistication which are the things that Apple fans certainly want from their iPhone. Not to mention the craftsmanship that went into the creation of this prototype is amazing. One can only hope that the iPhone 5 does look similar to this particular prototype or even better.
While these mockups are certainly nice to look at, we are still waiting for Apple to unveil the real thing this coming October 4th. Just a few more days folks. [via Giga.de]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
