Apple to Release the Final iOS 5 Build to Assemblers on September 24 to 30

It's no secret to the tech industry and Apple fans that iOS 5 is well on its way. First unveiled during last June's WWDC conference, iOS 5 is the highly anticipated version upgrade for Apple's mobile operating system. Most of the excitement and hype can be attributed to the fact that the iOS 5 offers over 200+ new features and is shaping up to be the best version of the iOS yet. Now a report just surfaced that the Golden Master build candidate of iOS 5 is set to be released in less than two weeks.

According to a report by AppleInsider, Apple already have plans to distribute the iOS 5 Golden Master build to its overseas assemblers. The speculated date on the report is said to be between September 23 and September 30 which is just in time for the expected mid-October launch of the next iPhone. In case you don't know, the Golden Master version of the software such as the iOS is the release candidate which is pretty much identical to the version which will be released to the public unless major bugs or issues are found.

If you anyone can recall, there have been reports that production for the iPhone 5 had already begun, making approximately 150,000 units per day. As expected, the iPhone 5 should certainly ship preloaded with iOS 5. In line with this report, once the final version of the iOS 5 is distributed to the supply chains, manufacturers should now be able to proceed with mass installation of the software and then on to the packaging.
iOS 5 Features
As you all know, iOS 5 is currently on its seventh pre-release version. And judging by the way thing are going, it could be possible that iOS 5 beta 7 would be the last beta version of iOS 5 before it hits Golden Master status. In addition to the new iPhone, there have been some buzz as well that a new 3G capable iPod touch would soon enter mass production phase.

iOS 5 is the much anticipated major update to Apple's mobile operating system which will be running on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Back in June's WWDC, Apple highlighted the several key features of the iOS 5. These new features include a new notifications system called Notification Center, iMessage, Mobile Safari Enhancements, deep Twitter integration and many more. iOS 5 along with the next iPhone are expected to be announced by Apple during the company's media event later this month.
