When it comes to smartphones, there is no doubt that Samsung's flagship smartphone device which is the Galaxy S II, is currently one of the most advanced model to date. The Galaxy S II is also arguably Samsung's most successful smartphone to date as it manages to sell over 5 million units in less than three months after its commercial release. A feat which is made even more impressive considering that Galaxy S II is only available in Korea and Europe. Well, that is until now. It has been officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S II will be made available in the United States this coming fall.
It has been confirmed that the Galaxy S II will be offered by three major U.S. mobile carriers which are AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. For AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S II will be made available in the coming weeks and pricing is currently TBA (to be announced) status. For Sprint, the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will be made available on September 16 for $199. As for T-Mobile much like AT&T, no specific date (except this fall) or pricing were announced. So why would you want a Samsung Galaxy S II? If you are going to check the specs of this particular smartphone, then you'll know that it is no less than being cutting-edge. It is the first ever Samsung phone to be powered by dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor which runs at 1.2 GHz. Under the hood, it also sports 1GB of memory and 16GB built-in storage. It comes with an 8-megapixel camera with flash which can record videos in Full HD resolution (1080p) and a 2 megapixel front facing camera which is used for video calls.
One of the most noteworthy aspect of the Galaxy S II it its new display technology called Super AMOLED Plus which allows for some eye-popping visuals in terms of brightness and quality. And if screen size matters to you, then you will be happy to know that the Galaxy S II features an enormous 4.3-inch display which is certainly of the largest display in the industry.
The Samsung Galaxy S II comes pre-installed with the latest version of Android - 2.3 Gingerbread which is combined with a new version of Samsung's TouchWiz version 4.0 user interface.
