One of the joys of jailbreaking is the ability to customize our very own iOS experience according to your very preference. And when it comes to that, this also gives us the ability to add something to the default experience in order to make it even better. Today we will be bringing you a tweak for the iOS's default web browser, Mobile Safari.
As far as pre-loaded browsers go, you'll be hard-pressed to find faults within Mobile Safari. The application delivers what it promises and does a rather good job at it. But there are nooks and crannies of Safari that could definitely be improved upon. A few days ago, we've brought to you a Cydia tweak for Safari that increases the scrolling speed of the app which adds a great deal of smoothness to your web browsing experience.
And now, we have another tweak for Mobile Safari that comes from Cydia. Have you ever accidentally closed a tab and losing it while browsing in Safari? Of course, this isn't an issue if you are working on a desktop because you can simply Undo Close Tab for Firefox or Reopen Closed Tab in Chrome. Unfortunately, Safari in the iOS doesn't have the same functionality. But don't worry, because once again, the jailbreak community is already on the case and have released a tweak in Cydia which lets you restore a recently closed tab in Safari. The name of the tweak is RestoreTab for Safari.
As the name suggests, this tweak gives you an ability to restore tabs in Mobile Safari for just a mere $0.99. All you need to do is browse for the tweak in Cydia under the BigBoss repository and install it to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Once installed, simply tap the New Tab button at the bottom left of the screen, once the blank page comes up, tap the Restore Tab button that's found in the bottom center of the page in order to restore the most recently closed tab. This tweak is also compatible with the iPad although the restore tab is relocated at the top right corner.

And since this is a Cydia application, as usual you need to have a jailbroken device before you can experience the goodness that this tweak has to offer. If you haven't jailbroken your device yet, we highly suggest you do so using our jailbreak guides. If you are under the latest firmware iOS 4.3.5, use Redsn0w to tether jailbreak your iPhone, iPad (1st gen only) and iPod touch. Or if you prefer an untethered jailbreak solution, then make sure your device is running under iOS 4.3.3 and take your pick of the following tools: Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool and JailbreakMe (easiest method and highly recommended for iPad 2 users).
