Jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch opens your device into a whole slew, almost unlimited amount of possibilities. One of the best things about jailbreaking is the fact that you get to customize your iOS experience so that it caters more to your preferences. While the App Store does have a great number of apps to improve the user experience, it simply can't match what the world of jailbreaking can offer. Today we have yet another jailbreak for you. This time it is a tweak that would let you add a whole new flair on how you unlock your iDevice.
There are a good number of jailbreak tweaks that lets you customize the way you unlock your screen. One of the most common one is Tap To Unlock which integrates the theming tweak Winterboard in order to provide a new method of unlocking the screen. If you want an Android flavored way to unlock the screen, then you can simply install AndroidLock XT. Now we have another lockscreen tweak for you that will let you add a dash of physics on your device's unlocking functionality.
The name of the tweak is GravityLockScreen and is developed by Chance Hudson. Basically what this app does is that it adds bounce and gravity into your lockscreen. Flicking the lockscreen upwards will result in the lockscreen bouncing and falling as if it is being influenced by gravity. You might want to play around with the settings for a good bit until you can achieve your desired results. Once you do, it can be quite a fun and entertaining way to unlock your screen. To give you a better idea how this jailbreak tweak works, we suggest you watch this video demo by iDownloadBlog:
The physics of the lockscreen is fully customizable and you can also remove the "Slide to Unlock" bar so you can showcase your wallpaper better. Unlike other lockscreen tweaks, GravityLockScreen does not require you to install Winterboard. It works great with notifications too. This tweak doesn't add an icon to your homescreen and all configurations can be accessed through the iOS System Settings.
This is more like a tweak made for fun and aesthetics. Others may find it to be impractical or even pointless. But anyone who wants a cool new way to customize their lockscreen might want to take a look at this jailbreak tweak. GravityLockScreen is available in Cydia through the BigBoss repo for $1.99.
Before you can download and install this tweak, you will need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. If you are currently under the latest firmware iOS 4.3.5, then we suggest you check out our Redsn0w guide for a tethered jailbreak. Or perhaps you prefer the latest untethered solution, then take your pick out of these four iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak tools: Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool and JailbreakMe (recommended for beginners).
