HomeScreen Settings: Access Frequently Used Settings In Your Home Screen [Cydia Tweak]

One of the known annoyances that iDevice users complain about is the lack of means to access their most frequently used settings as they are buried deep into the System Preferences. Wouldn't it be convenient if you can just access your WiFi and other frequently used settings from your home screen? Well thanks to the jailbreak community because they have come up with a jailbreak tweak that does exactly that.

HomeScreen Settings Cydia Tweak
The jailbreak tweak is called HomeScreen Settings. This jailbreak tweak allows the user to pin any options from the System Preferences into the home screen so you can easily access them without having to navigate deep into the device's preference settings. In order to pin a setting into your screen, just navigate to your System Preference of choice and simply tap "Add Icon to Homescreen". Once a setting is pinned into the home screen, it will act as a shortcut. And once tapped, a menu interface will popup and you can instantly set your preference without leaving the home screen.

This tweak may not be that much at first but this is actually a huge time saver. Want to quickly access your WiFi settings and configure them? Or you want to adjust the sound settings of your device? Well with this jailbreak tweak, you will be able to easily set them right from the home screen, saving you a few seconds. Check out this video of HomeScreen Settings:

If anyone can recall this particular tweak was featured in an iOS 5 concept that was designed by Monkey Color design studio. But unfortunately, it seems that it didn't officially make it into the iOS 5 beta. Fortunately the jailbreak community realized the usefulness of this feature and have made it into reality by designing a tweak around it. This actually looks like feature that should be built in into the iOS itself. So something tells me that we will be seeing this feature integrated into the iOS in the future. Who knows? iOS 5 is still in beta, so maybe Apple can slip this feature in by the time of the official release this fall?

Keep in mind that in order to install this jailbreak tweak, you will need to jailbreak your iOS device. If you want to know how to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 into your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, then you can either use SnowBreeze, Redsn0w or PwnageTool.

HomeScreen Settings is now available in Cydia for $1.99 via BigBoss repo.
