The iPhone‘s all touchscreen interface while indeed revolutionary, presents some problems that compromises the overall user experience. Probably the most common complaint is the lack of physical buttons that are otherwise present in other phones. For example, the absence of a physical button for the camera shutter is widely considered to be a misstep in the part of Apple, but thankfully the jailbreak community came up with apps like Activator and FastSnap. And it looks like the iOS 5 will be fixing that as well by utilizing the volume button for the camera shutter.
But what about back buttons? A button that will enable to user to switch back to the last application that he was using? Yes, the iPhone is missing such a basic button that could make multitasking a lot more intuitive. Fortunately there is a Cydia tweak that looks to remedy this problem.
Famed jailbreak developer Chpwn released a tweak called Appslide. So what does this tweak do? This tweak allows you to assign a back to previous function to your iPhone’s Home button.
