Enable iOS 4.3.1 Multitouch Gestures on iPhone & iPod Touch [Easy Way]

If you do not want to rejailbreak your iPhone with Sn0wbreeze 2.5 just to enable multitouch gestures or do not want to mess with your iPhone filesystem then here is a handy Cydia tweak which allows you to enable multitouch gestures easily on your iPhone and iPod Touch jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1.

Just open Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice and install MT Gestures app from ModMyi repo. Once installed, open Winterboard app and choose iPhone3,1_4.3.1_Gestures if you are iPhone 4 user and iPod4,1_4.3.1_Gestures if you are iPod Touch 4G user. Thats it! Respring your iDevice and select Multitasking Gestures by navigating to Settings->General tab.

MT Gestures
I won't lie to my visitors but this tweak never worked on my iPhone 4 :P The first fail of this tweak is that it uses Winterboard (I don't prefer Winterboard due to battery issues) and the 2nd one is that even after using Winterboard, it didn't work on my iPhone 4. So i enabled multitasking gestures by using the manual method which still works works flawlessly. Do mention in the comments section below if MT Gestures app worked for your iDevice. If it also failed on your iDevice, you can just follow our manual guide to enable multitasking gestures on all iOS 4.3.1 iDevices.

    Hi,
I have done the jailbreak with redsn0w and now to enable multitasking I will need to use Sn0wbreeze. So can I just re-jailbreak the phone again without restoring it, as in jailbreak it again even though it already is?

Use this guide http://bit.ly/fOqOYT to avoid full restore.

Thanks!! but you mean the MT Gestures one na? You’ve linked me to the iFile alternative for which we need sn0wbreeze right?? Because I cannot browse through the filesystem right now with iFile.

Oops this is the MT Gestures one hehe!! But ya the question remains because first I had tried that alternative and I have iFile on my phone but cannot browse through the file system!! I think that one works only for jailbreaks with Sn0wbreeze?? Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

Nah! It works with all jailbroken iDevices on iOS 4.3.x. All you need is to install Afc2add from Cydia and then use iPhone Explorer to copy and Plist Editor for Windows to edit the PLIST files.

To browse core filesystem of your iPhone, you need to install afc2add from Cydia.
