Here is a quick tip for those who wan't to install cracked apps on their iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad without a WiFi connection. As all cracked App Store apps have .IPA extension, so you must install first Installous which can then be used to install the cracked IPA files. All you need is a jailbroken iPhone and an active internet connection on your desktop PC or Mac.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Hackulo.us repo is now officially gone, so you won't be able to download Installous from the repository anymore. As an alternative, you can use other Cydia repos to download AppSync from: (Best Cydia Repos 2011, Best Cydia Repos 2012, Best Cydia Repos 2013). Better yet, you can use other alternatives that will let you download cracked iPhone apps.
As you don't have a WiFi router, so you can't SSH into your iDevice using WinSCP or CyberDuck. To install Installous DEB file, you can either use USB tunneling to SSH or simply use iPhone Explorer which allows you to explore filesystem on your iDevice without SSH'ing into it.
Steps to Install Installous without WiFi or SSH Access:
- Download iPhone Explorer for your jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad from here
- Download Installous latest DEB file from here.
- Download this ZIP file and extract all the DEBs in it on your desktop.
- Download AppSync for 4.0+ DEB file from here if you are on iOS 4.x.x and if you are on iPhone OS 3.x.x download AppSync for 3.1 from here
- Connect your iDevice to your computer via USB cable, launch iPhone Explorer and navigate to the following location:
- Place Installous, AppSync and other DEB files in AutoInstall directory.
- Reboot your iDevice.
Location: /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
Tip: If you don't see Cydia or AutoInstall directory, create it manually.
Steps to Install Cracked Apps without WiFi or SSH Access:
- Go to AppTracker and download the cracked IPA file.
- Once you have the IPA file, connect your iPhone to your computer again and launch iPhone Explorer. Navigate to the following location and place IPA file in Downloads directory.
- Reboot your iPhone and launch Installous.
- Go to the Download tab at the bottom, tap on the cracked app you want to install and choose Install option from the pop-up menu.

I am currently transfering all apps that I want to install on my iTouch.
One last question, after all the apps are installed.. can I delete all the .ipa files I copied on the folder Location: /var/mobile/Documents/Installous/Downloads ??
Yes, once you have completed the installation, you can safely delete them from your Installous folder.

For all those whose have problem installing apps with Installous after transfering them to your Iphone just go to Cydia remove the Installous and install it again :)

So I managed to get Installous on my iphone after a couple of tries and tweaks(thanks to users who provided solutions) and I transferred an ipa file to my installous' downloads folder, did the rebooting, and tried to install the ipa, but Installous just quits and goes back to my home screen. My error is with the very last step. When installing the app from installous I get a message saying NPOSIXErrorDomain Code=13. Every thing I've read seems to say I am supposed to change the file permissions but I have yet to find a way to do this without wifi.
I've done everytning in the tutorial but when I tried to install the apps from installous it gives me an error saying "The operation could not be completed. Permission denied". Please help.
Retry the download after a few hours. It could be a temporary server issue.
this may help. I had the same problem on the first try. i saw installous and app syn in the cydia packages after reboot but no installous app icon on the display. i deleted the installed installous package under cydia then repeat everything except i did not copy the appsync deb. after reboot i can see the installous icon and everythings works going forward

Nope, haven't been across such an issue. Are you sure this started happening right after you installed the .deb file & that you have installed the right version for the iOS that your currently running?

Are you sure that it isn't being restricted ? Check under Settings->General->Restrictions to make sure that the relevant options are enabled / toggled to ON for Installous.
why does the deb file delete themselves when i reboot my idevice?
Because it auto-installs them at each reboot of your device after you have placed the respective debs in the AutoInstall folder.

Try using Cyder 2. Its a PC alternative to download tweaks off Cydia for those who do not have a Wi-Fi connection. ( Wi-Fi connectivity is always recommended.)

Make sure AppSync is installed & just download those IPAs you wish to have onto your desktop & sync it back to your iPhone instead via iTunes. Why use Installous in the first place?

Why are you using iFunBox to install IPAs in the first place? All you need to do is sync them into your iDevice via iTunes & nothing else. Your apps are getting deleted only because you do not have them in your iTunes Apps library. Make sure that you have installed Installous as well.

But what happened is, everytime my device is off (due to low battery, or even switched off), all my apps won't work at all. The thing is, I tried to use redsn0w once again, and booted my device, and then voilaaa,, the apps worked again.

Nothing has happened to your iPT4G. iOS 4.3.5 currently has only a tethered JB. Therefore, you need to follow the same procedure each time you reboot your device. This is called a tethered JB.

Your internet is facing a packet drop issue & hence its timing out. Download the IPAs from http://apptrackr.org & sync them back onto your iPhone via iTunes.

If its the iPad2, well your then out of luck, but if its the iPad1 that you have, you can only use a tethered JB as of now if in case you don't have any SHSH blobs saved for your device on Cydia. looks like your having the iPad2.

Yes, you possibly could install SBSettings as well as anything else you may need using an offline Cydia alternative on your PC called Cyder 2. Read this.
1. Install appsync 4 from cydia
2. Download apps from appcake
3. The apps automatically open in iTunes
4. Sync with iTunes and apps appear!
Ps I'm not sure if installous is needed or not, just check if the method above doesn't work
Its all the same. The main element in play here is AppSync which allows you to sync the cracked apps back onto your device successfully.

i did evrything till step 7. now cydia wont start, i cant find installous, i cant find 'documents' in /var/mobile. i checked in /Root Directory/Applications and I cant find Installous.app directory.

I got it all ok.... i just restore it and jailbreak again... and now its ok... maybe its a conflict cause i used first the iphone explorer and when i create the Cydia and AutoInstall folder it returns to untitled folder... and then i delete it and create again but same thing happend... thats why i decided to use diskaid.. i did it correctly but thats what happened so i decided to refresh it again to its original setting and jailbreak again and i use the diskaid to install the appsync and installous... and it became ok...

Yep, I get that. Your friends/someone around you must be having one. You can even share your internet over your Wi-Fi as well to create a hotspot.

Seems like alot of users are finding this issue. Right now, what you can do is to restore completely to a fresh iOS and install Installous via the Wi-Fi. Avoid the manual installation method.

You might need to do a complete fresh installation of your iOS and make sure you restore all your apps/games/music manually and not directly from your previous backup. Its most likely caused by some theme that you might have downloaded and installed using Winterboard. Or are you telling that this happened only after you tried installing Installous? Are you sure?

Yep. Install CyDelete from Cydia itself. Once done, uninstall Installous just like how you would uninstall an AppStore/any other app.

If its not working, then try this. Download the IPA file for your iDevice from http://apptrackr.org and sync it back to your iDevice with iTunes. It'll still install it just like how Installous would do it for you.
I'm unable to name the folder under "Cydia" "AutoInstall". I tried renaming the folder several times, but it would always revert back to "Untitled Folder." I am able to drag all of the .deb files onto the "Untitled Folder", but I still cannot rename it "AutoInstall." Please help, thanks.

Don't refresh directly. Once you rename the folder, just click somewhere in the white folder space to make the changes.

I have the installous and the appsync and everything through them worked fine ,but when i download a cracked .ipa file to my desktop and then try to install it through itune since i have the appsync, it gives me that the app couldn't be installed you have to autorize your computer
In iTunes, Goto Store>>Authorize This Computer. Enter in your Apple ID credentials and hit Authorize.

By cracked IPA, we mean the application that you would like to install on your iDevice w/o the AppStore intervention. These apps are of the extension .ipa. You'll need to download the apps individually from http://apptrackr.org onto your desktop and then transfer them to you iDevice via iTunes.

Yes, it does have everything to do with the installation of Cydia. Only then will it create its roots and dependency folders across the iOS which will help you to AutoInstall. If you install Cydia, the location will be auto created uptil the Media folder. You'll need to continue making your folders from there and drop in the IPA's. Choose Cydia the next time while restoring using PT/ run Redsn0w instead over the current jailbreak only with the "Install Cydia" option ticked.

Something's wrong here. You tried to jailbreak your iOS 3.x.x using Greenpois0n ? Greenpois0n never supported a 3.x.x iOS version. You havent jailbroken your iPhone just yet. You'll need to use Redsn0w 0.9.4 instead to get your iPhone 2G jailbroken.
Something is very wrong here. Your telling me that you used Greenpois0n to jailbreak your iPhone 2G on iOS 3.x.x? Well, Greenpois0n is an outdated solution for the iOS 3.x. The easiest way to get your iPhone 2G jailbroken/unlocked is the Custom FW option from here http://bit.ly/iFSlZj. Download the custom FW and Restore to it. This'll get you jailbroken & unlocked. After this, try out Installous and it'll work good for you. :)

Okies. Since that's the case, the jailbreak has gone well. You'll need to tap the Loader.app and Install Cydia from there and complete the jailbreak (You'll need a Wi-Fi connection). Sorry, my bad. Thought your running an iP2G.

If you find the Downloads folder in the location here, /var/mobile/Documents/Installous/Downloads, Go ahead and create a new one with the folder name Downloads. Voila !! :)

Looks to me that the IPA file is corrupt. Have you tried any other app?
I have, but will keep trying I think its just the iPhone though since I upgraded the baseband its just been problems.

Nopsi. It has nothing to do with the baseband. Perhaps re-installing AppSync will fix this issue.

I have successfully intalled installous it successfully installed cracked applications i restarted my ipod but when i clicked on the file which was installed it opened and closed by itself i again restared my ipod and same problem happened plz help me

ever since I did this, and put some games on iphone through itunes, the iphone battery has been draining insanely fast.. overnight it died from 100% while it was in sleep mode..

This is because they are not cracked. Only your friend can use them and can crack them on his iPhone. Otherwise it is not possible.

Your friend must crack them on his iPhone using Crackulous or CrackNShare and then should give you the cracked copies.

YES! finally figured it out, installous was such a waste of time, way better off using itunes, just double click the ipa file and it will go in to your itune apps, and than sync!
That is only possible because you installed AppSync offline :)

Even using IPA from apptrackr, installous just exits during install, and does not complete install. Do I need to add username and password to settings in installous? Can you please give in depth instructions on how to install with itunes without installous. THANKS
Just installed cracked IPAs using iTunes. You already have installed AppSync. So there should be no issue.
Tried and tried again, installous will not pop up on my apps, I went to Root Directory/Applications and I do not see Installous.app -_-
Ok got installous to work (had a space before autoinstall lol), hopefully the games work :)
Make sure the directory names (AutoInstall, Cydia) are spelled correctly.
By the way, can u give another tutorial about installing another cydia apps without wifi, i really want to install winterboard but i don't have wifi connection, do u have any idea how to do it or is it the same with the tutorial above, so all i have to do is get the deb file for winterboard, thanks a lot :D
Winterboard have lot of dependencies. You need DEB files for all of those dependencies. Yep, this guide http://bit.ly/dVYmJF is still valid if you want to install Winterboard without Wifi or Cydia provided that you have DEB files of all of its dependencies.

Seems like i can't install apps via itunes, itunes seems can't synch the games that i try to install but music file work just fine, i can install the apps and games with ur ways tho altough when pay attention to the screen when it is installing, a fast error warning appear, something like "error building...." but the apps still can be installed at the end,do u think that error may do some harm to my ipod? and is it ok that i can't synch the apps and games with youtube? thanks a lot for ur help again

Yep! If you do not want to install Installous on your iDevice and want to install cracked IPA using iTunes instead then you must install AppSync using the above method. Along with AppSync, you must install the necessary DEB files in step 3. Once again thanks for confirming me that this method actually works :D

You must reboot your iPad atleast once to view Installous icon your Springboard.
i rebooted my ipod twice but still its not in my springboard... help please...
After hours of troubleshooting, i finally found the solution:
Download http://cydia.hackulo.us/hresources-1.0.deb
Download http://cydia.hackulo.us/sourcegui-1.2.deb
Place the above two DEBs in AutoInstall directory (Step 5) along with Installous and AppSync DEB.
Do i need to have cydia installed in my ipod through a wifi before doing this?..
