Download Ultrasn0w Fixer to Unlock iPhone 4 01.59.00 Baseband on iOS 4.3.1 [Unofficial]

Folks at PushFix repo has released an unofficial Ultrasn0w Fixer which can unlock iPhone 4 01.59.00 baseband on iOS 4.3.1. For those who don't know, Ultrasn0w 1.2 was broken on iOS 4.3.x due to Apple ASLR security feature which broke Ultrasn0w code naively using 0x1000 as the main executable base address. Msft.Guy (@msft_guy) was the first one who fixed Ultrasn0w on all the betas and GM build of iOS 4.3 and later iH8sn0w ported the fix to iOS 4.3 by releasing Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4.

Steps to Install Ultrasn0w Fixer on iPhone 4 Jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1:

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone 4.
  2. Tap on the Manage tab at the bottom followed by a tap on Sources section.
  3. Enter http://cydia.pushfix.info/ as Cydia/APT URL and wait for Cydia to reload its sources.

  1. Click on the Search tab at the bottom and type Ultrasn0w Fixer in the search field. Choose Ultrasn0w fixer for 4.3.1 from the search results and click on Install button on the top-right to install Ultrasn0w fixer. If you haven't already installed Ultrasn0w 1.2, it will automatically install it along with the fixer.

  1. Thats it. Reboot your iPhone once installation has been done.

Update#1: DjayB6 (@DJayB6) who happens to be a well-known PwnageTool bundle creator has also released his Ultrasn0w Fixer for iPhone 4. DjayB6 previously released Ultrasn0w Fixer to fix Ultrasn0w 1.2 on iOS 4.3.1 for iPhone 3GS. To install DJayB6's Ultrasn0w fixer, just add http://djayb6.com/ repo to Cydia and search iPhone 4 Ultrasn0w Fixer. Before installing DjayB6's Ultrasn0w Fixer, make sure you have installed Ultrasn0w 1.2 from official Ultrasn0w repo (http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com)

Please try these unofficial Ultrasn0w fixers at your own risk. My iPhone 4 is running 02.10.04 baseband, so i am unable to test these releases. If any of these Ultrasn0w fixers work for you, do mention in the comments section below. I'll still recommend you to wait for official Ultrasn0w fix by iPhone Dev-Team which will be arriving anytime soon as Cydia package update.

Update#1: We got our first confirmation from our Facebook fan who managed to unlock his iPhone 3GS baseband 05.13.04 on iOS 4.3.1 using Ultrasn0w Fixer at PushFix repo. Acc. to him, fixer at DjayB6 repo didn't work for him.

      Hi,

Might be an issue specific to your carrier. Try a different SIM and see if the problem is still there.

  •
    John2 years, 11 months ago

Mhm, probably. Remove the SIM PIN as well & retry the unlock. Make sure you have tried different carrier SIMs as well.

I have tried with a different carrier SIM card, disabled the SIM pin on my own card and still, doesn’t seem to be working… :S

Did the restore many times with the sinful custom firmware and the one I developed by pwnage tool. Restore is successful every time without any error. Now even replaced the SIM from Vodafone and have new SIM but that signal and call drop issues still persists also I told you that its able to read networks at times and not always.

    iPhone 3GS
    iOS 4.1
    BB 06.15.00

should I install the iPad baseband again???

    •
      Pramod2 years, 11 months ago

Mhm, it really doesn’t matter to actually reinstall the iPadBB. It could be because of the iPadBB itself that causing these call drop issues. If so, then there’s nothing that I can suggest you of as of now than to hope for a BB downgrade tool to downgrade your BB.

Unable to activate Cellular Data would ONLY show up if you were successful with the unlock because this confirms that your iP4 is able to capture a data signal for your SIM. Have you tried using multiple different carrier SIM cards as well? Also a SIM that works on someone else’s iPhone too?

    REPLY

I haven’t had the chance to try that yet, but I know my SIM card asks for a 4 digit code when I turn on my other phone (it’s a default setting with SIM cards from that carrier). My iPhone has never asked for that code when I put my SIM in it. Maybe it has something to do with this…

I am on iOS 4.1 BB 06.15.00. I have unlocked using Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 after jailbreaking with PwnageTool. I have have also tried the unlock with Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 after jailbreaking with redsn0w 0.9.6rc16.

Cydia seems to run smoothly, but when I installed Ultrasn0w, I got got a message saying “Unable to activate Cellular Data” right after the installation is completed. Maybe it has something to do with this…

After rebooting and trying to insert à SIM card, I can see my iPhone “searching” for a network and then changing to “No Service”. Also, I cannont pick any carrier from the Settings menu.

Hope this information is enough! :)

Yes sim is working fine on other phones although I have not tested it on other iPhone but I have tested other sims also on my iPhone. Issue is still the same.

You might want to try to redo the restore that you may have just performed to a fresh custom install of iOS 4.1itself first. Later on, use ONLY Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 to unlock your device & try the same. I still sincerely feel that its a SIM specific issue as its very well able to read the networks around you. Make sure you restore your device the right way with the necessary SHSH blobs & so on.

With reference to my previous post and reply of this
Pramod “Are you able to read the carrier networks around you from the carrier list while the SIM is inserted? Also, turn OFF any 3G / data connectivity & retry the same.”

Yes I am able to read the carrier networks but now always and most of the time its searching. I tried turning off 3g and data connectivity but issue still persists.

I have an iphone 3gs originally with 4.0 bb 05.13.04. I was having some issues with the device rebooting automatically and draining the battery. I asked someone and searched google to reinstall the os. I inadvertently missed a step which took my phone to 4.3.4. After about a week, I found a solution to downgrade with custom IPSW and jailbreak back to 4.0 however the bb is now 05.16.02. I contacted my carrier, who was very helpful (TMO), who told me that the service was working properly, however, the issue may be the bb. My phone had been searching for a signal but now it says No Service. How do I change to a working bb and which one? On my Cydia at the bottom it says iPhone 3G[S] iOS 4.0 Cydia 1.1.1 . At the top just above Welcome to Cydia, I have SHSH iOS 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1+, 4.3.4 . I did install from Cydia repo666.ultrasn0w.com which install ultrasn0w version 1.2.3 . Again, how do I change the bb to get my phone working again?

    •
      Pramod3 years, 1 month ago

Yes, it is infact the BB version because right now, your on an Ultrasn0w unsupported BB. So, Ultrasn0w will not work. You need to update your BB to an iPad’s BB so as to unlock your iP3GS. Since you have all the SHSHs saved, follow this guide http://bit.ly/jVI3cT & then later downgrade back to the iOS of your choice.

    •
      Pramod3 years, 2 months ago

Are you trying to downgrade to ultrasn0w 1.2 ? As a matter of fact, we don’t suggest anyone to do so because Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 works flawless on every device and its sure to work for you too in the UK as well. Also being the latest version, its the best out so far with compatibility upto 4.3.3.

its not working on mine its always saying no service or searching

        •
          Pramod3 years, 2 months ago

If it says Searching../No Service, it means that your Ultrasn0w is working just fine. Did you try popping in a SIM of different carrier to see if it behaves the same way? Try it out and let us know.

I went through the custom IPSW 4.3.1 on bb 6.15.00 used snowbreeze 2.5 and ultrasnow 1.2.2 and I have the “no signal” issue. I have tried to use the fixer, but cydia will not let me add djayb6.com as a source, and t is no longer available from cydia.pushfix.info. Any ideas are appreciated.

    Thx in advance

Ultrasn0w 1.2.2 should have unlocked your iPhone 3GS baseband 06.15.00 on iOS 4.3.1. I hope you did a reboot after installing Ultrasn0w. You got iOS 4.2.1 or iOS 4.1 SHSH blobs? If yes then downgrade and use Ultrasn0w 1.2.

      •
        E$3 years, 4 months ago

I have been readng about many people with this issue. I did a reboot after install. No SHSH I also tried to run ultrasnow on an old 3g on 3.1.2 and supported bb and doesn’t work on that either. Tried multiple sims.

        •
          Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

You tried Ultrasn0w 1.2 on your iPhone 3G? I have intimated MuscleNerd about this issue and have asked DjayB6 to restore his repo. His fixer was definitely working for iPhone 3GS users with iPad bb.

          •
            E$3 years, 4 months ago

The fixer is not available anymore in cydia. Its supposed to not be needed because ultrasnow is supposed to be fixed. Djayb6 can’t even be added as a source for me. It jeeps giving me an error stating that it could not find the respository. I appreciate your input. Is there anyone else that had a fixed aside from djayb6 or infopush?

          •
            Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

You are right! Its not only u but almost all iPhone 3GS users with iPad bb are having issues with iOS 4.3.2. DjayB6 is looking into this issue http://bit.ly/lHfeuV Also i found Ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 4.3.1 in Insanelyi repo (http://repo.insanelyi.com) You can download Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 DEB from here http://bit.ly/gFpqMb

I tried this as well and no luck. I used the link that you provided to DL 1.2.1 and installed it via explorer instead of cydia, still no service. i disabled 3g prior, and then tried to use the fixer but it will not let me. i get an error in cydia stating “cannot comply” “Note: the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed”. my phone is on 4.3.2, not 4.3.1, t looks like it wants my os to be set at 4.3.1

I redid the os fresh on 4.3.2 and used the ultrasnow link you provided to load the .deb file for the unlock, it says it is 1.2.2 not 1.2.1 for the ultrasnow software. i then tried to load the 4.3.2 fixer, but it will not load. it will only queue. any ideas?

            Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

You must have used the very first direct link to download Ultrasn0w 1.2.1? Right? Use this link http://bit.ly/jo0U9m for Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 DEB

          •
            e$3 years, 4 months ago

Yeah man tried it and the same thing, I have no issue installing the ultrasnow 1.2.1 and 1.2.2, but the fix will not install properly for either. Are others having success with this? I am running the old boot-rom, does this impact the fixer or unlock process?

          •
            Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

The fixer for iOS 4.3.1 needs Ultrasn0w 1.2 DEB and the fixer for iOS 4.3.2 needs Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 DEB. After reading the above comments of all folks, i don’t think any version of Ultrasn0w works to unlock iPhone 3GS baseband 06.15.00 on iOS 4.3.1 or iOS 4.3.2. For some users, Ultrasn0w fixer by DjayB6 worked on iOS 4.3.1 but his iOS 4.3.2 fixer never worked for iP3GS users with iPad bb. This is because DjayB6′s Ultrasn0w fixer for iOS 4.3.2 uses Ultrasn0w 1.2.1. Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 never worked for any iPhone 3GS user with iPad bb.

Nops. All you need is a restore iOS 4.3.3 custom IPSW made with PwnageTool http://bit.ly/jMpbKR or Sn0wbreeze http://bit.ly/k5I7Qu. Once done, use official Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 to unlock your iPhone http://bit.ly/itMs7o

No you can not unlock iPhone 4 03.10.01 baseband with this Ultrasn0w Fixer. Dev-Team is already working on NCK unlock method which is just a theoretical approach until now. The only way to unlock your iPhone 4 03.10.01 is through Gevey or Rebel MicroSim cards.

    •
      Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

No! As i have already told, you can only restore custom IPSWs (Not stock IPSW). Anyways, no worries, there is no damage done to your iPhone. First create iOS 4.3.1 custom IPSW for iPhone 3GS using Sn0wbreeze 2.5 http://bit.ly/ieiJis (Do skip iPad baseband upgradation steps as you are already on it) and then restore it through iTunes. If u have a Mac, you should try custom IPSW made with PwnageTool 4.3 http://bit.ly/hEOyrT instead of Sn0wbreeze as PwnageTool custom IPSWs have less restore errors as compared to Sn0wbreeze. Once done, use Ultrasn0w fixer.

PS: If you do not want to get into jailbreak mess, download this pre-made custom IPSW http://bit.ly/fYCFlq and restore it with iTunes. I have not created this custom IPSW, so i do not guarantee if it works or not!

      •
Cyrus Brands3 years, 4 months ago

I did the restore with Sn0wbreeze custom it went fine, but has reboot in the Itunes Logo mode with the USB icon, and the slider for emergency call only. It’s telling me ” No SIM Card Installed, Insert a valid SIM with no PIN Lock to activate IPHONE”

        •
          Wolverine3 years, 4 months ago

Ok it has an easy solution. Follow this guide http://bit.ly/ieiJis and make sure to choose Activate the iPhone [Hacktivate] in step 10. Thats it! Also do not choose to install iPad baseband as you already have it.

Uhm, this is a bit confusing. The article says: “who managed to unlock his iPhone 3GS baseband 05.15.04 on iOS 4.3.1 using Ultrasn0w Fixer at PushFix repo”

And then on the photo the bb is 05.13.04. I have a 3gs on 05.15.04 on 4.2.1. If I update it to 4.3.1 and preserve the baseband. Then install ultrasnow and ultrasnow fixer, will I have an unlocked phone?

    •
      Wolverine3 years, 5 months ago

That was a typo which is corrected now. Sorry for that. Anyways, you have iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 with 05.15.04 baseband. To unlock your iPhone on iOS 4.3.1 or any other firmware with 05.15.xx baseband, you must first upgrade it to iPad baseband.

Upgrading to iPad baseband has following 3 dis-advantages:

      1. You will loose your GPS functionality on iPhone
      2. To upgrade to iPad baseband, you must be running iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.2.1
      3. You will never be able to restore a stock IPSW of any firmware on your iDevice.

Notice the 2nd point, once you are on iOS 4.3.1, you will never be able to upgrade to iPad baseband using Redsn0w http://bit.ly/gI22Px because Redsn0w will fail on all those iDevices which are running iOS 4.3.1.

What to do now? If you want to unlock, first upgrade to iPad baseband on iOS 4.2.1 using Redsn0w and then jump to iOS 4.3.1 by restoring custom IPSW made with Sn0wbreeze or PwnageTool.

I have an iphone 3gs baseband 06.15.00 ultrasn0w didn’t work for me to unlock my device after jailbreaking it with sn0wbreeze 2.5. After installing this fixer for ultrasn0w from cydia my iphone is unlocked ant it recognices my spanish simcard!

I wanted to say aswell that upgrading my baseband from 05.16.02 to ipad 06.15.00 didn’t make me loose my gps function!

    thank you very much!

Thanks for confirming Borja. I am still not able to understand how you can use GPS with iPad bb.
