Download SAM to Activate iPhone 4/3GS Officially on iOS 4.3.2

After jailbreaking your iPhone on iOS 4.3.2 through PwnageTool or Redsn0w, you can activate it officially on iOS 4.3.2 by using SAM. Activating your hacktivated iPhone through SAM not only improves the battery life of your iPhone but also enables fully working Push Notifications on it. SAM also fixes Cannot connect to YouTube error on all hacktivated iDevices.

Steps to Officially Activate iPhone on iOS 4.3.2 Using SAM:

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone.
  2. SAM (Cydia)

  3. Click on the Manage tab followed by a click on Sources section.
  4. SAM (Sources)

  5. Tap on Edit button on the top-right corner and then tap on Add button on the top-left corner. Enter http://repo.bingner.com as Cydia/APT URL and click on Add Source button.
  6. SAM (Repo Address)

  7. Now wait while Cydia updates its sources database. Once done, click on the Search tab at the bottom and type SAM in the search field.
  8. Search SAM in Cydia

  9. Select SAM from the search results. Click on Install button on the top-right to install SAM on your iPhone. Once SAM has been installed successfully, click on Restart Springboard button to exit Cydia.
  10. SAM Cydia App

  11. Make sure your iPhone is disconnected from your PC or Mac. Open SAM app from your Springboard or choose SAM by navigating to Settings » SAM
  12. SAM (Before Activation)

  13. Tap on the Utilities menu and then tap on Revert Lockdown to Stock button. You will see Stockification Success message. If you see Stockification Failure message then it means you have not installed correct version of SAM on your iPhone.
  14. SAM (Stockification Success)

  15. Now tap on SAM button on the top-left to go back to the main menu.
  16. SAM After Activation

  17. Thats it. Plug your iPhone to your PC or Mac via USB cable and launch iTunes. You will see the following screen in iTunes:
  18. SAM iTunes

  19. Wait while iTunes generate legitimate activation packets for your iPhone. Once done, you are all set to sync and backup your iPhone.
  20. SAM Activated iTunes

  21. After syncing and backing up your iPhone, iTunes error 1631 will be thrown. Just ignore this message.
  22. iTunes 1631

  23. Open SAM app on your iPhone and click on the More Information menu.
  24. SAM WildcardActivated

  25. If you see ActivationState as WildcardActivated, it means you have successfully activated your iPhone on iOS 4.3.2 by using SAM.
  26. To test if Push Notifications are working fine or not, download iPusher app from App Store.
  27. If for some reason Push Notifications are still not working, go to SAM » Utilities and tap on Backup Activation button followed by a tap on Restore Activation button.

My ActivationState of SAM is WildcardActivated. But under utils the message was Push: Desactivated. Magically my problem solved doing next:

On Cydia i go to manage > source > Bingner repo and install PushUtil. My cell reload and unistall SAM and SAM prefs (when i install pushutil). I install iPush test from Installous to test and was OK.

Thanks 4 ur guide is excellent!!!

I hope my experience will help somebody.

PD: sorry my english is not good im Ecuadorian

    Hi!

I’ve iphone 3GS JB with redsnow and greenposion 4.2.1 BB 06.15. I did everything on the guide and push doesnt work. Also reinstall Push Apps like WhatsApp, Face, etc. The message on my iphone is: Push Utils: Disabled. the other tings are good. I live in Ecuador and my cell is from USA. Any suggestion thanks.

    •

What’s the Activation State when you fire up SAM? You might want to uninstall & then reinstall SAM. Make sure that you also uninstall PushUtils & SAMPrefs manually as well & give it a try once again.

i installed SAM…my push notification were restored but i think my battery is draining faster…any ideas…help

    •
      Pramod5 years, 1 month ago

Your battery is draining because of the iPadBB (if you have relied on an unlock). Its simply because the BB that’s meant to be run on an iPad is now running on an iPhone. So, your bound to see such issues including the loss of GPS. You definitely cannot stop this draining issue, but you can very well limit it. Read this http://bit.ly/mootZv.

Hi I’ve Jailbroken and Unlocked my iPhone with UltraSn0w on the iPad baseband, But whatever I try I cannot get it to activate with iTunes :( What should I do. I think the iPhone is locked into Telstra but when I set it, I get nothing but Itunes cannot recognize your sim bla bla bla…. Is it cause I’ve unlocked already or is it another issue.
    BTW It’s an iPhone 3G 4.2.1, Model MB489X

hi..i tried these steps … after lots of trials and error finally all is well and done..thanks a lot but i want to ask u that why does it go from activated state to mismatched ICCID state.. i want to prevent it from happening… i have noticed that when my phone is switched on after complete battery drainage its state is mismatched ICCID .. i repeat the steps and it works again.. kindly help

    •
      Pramod5 years, 1 month ago

Mismatched ICCID simply shows that you have tried to change the SIM ID & that the one you have currently changed it to doesn’t match the official carrier SIM’s ID. make sure that you don’t change any of htese attributes unless you have the official carrier SIM to which your iPhone was locked to in the first place. If you want to prevent this from happening, then read this http://bit.ly/mDpDwr.

Hey wolverine! I have a little issue with my iPhone 3GS 4.2.1 iPad bb. Everything went smooth I jailbreak it with redsnow 0.9RC15 then I install iPad bb . I unlocked it ans everything with and it’s unlocked I don’t have any problems with the carried but everytime I reboot it gets stuck on apple logo and after a while it shuts itself off ans turn on again and gets stuck on the same apple logo. I know how to get out of it by going to redsnow and click on just boot tethered right now . Thats te only way I get it to work … What do you think I should do ? I don’t want to be hooking up my phone to my pc everytime I reboot or turn it off ? I’m on windows

    •
      Pramod5 years, 2 months ago

That’s right. Using the Just Boot tethered Now is the only way to get yourselves out of the recovery loop. RSrc15 is updated to have only a tethered jailbreak for the iOS 4.2.1. You must use RSrc17 to get your iPhone untethered. So restore & re-jailbreak using the same.

I NEED HEELP!!! i did everything that you said.. i have a jailbroken iphone… it says connect to itunes to activate. :( does this mean iv lost all my apps? and i tried to restart the phone but it justhangs on the apple logo.. SOME ONE HELP ME PLZZZ!!! :(

    •
      Pramod5 years, 3 months ago

Re-jailbreak your device with Redsn0wRC16, this will get you Hacktivated and will get your iPhone into the HomeScreen. (Note: If you had restored prior to getting this screen, you have lost everything that was there on your iPhone already because a Restore will erase everything and default your iPhone back to factory settings.)

I installed SAM and its all activated, but I need to install MiTime in order to get facetime to work.. when I install mitime its going to uninstall SAM. Is that okay? Do I still need SAM even though its already been activated?

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

Mmmm. I think if your iPhone is Wildcard Activated, you do not need to install MiTime. MiTime also activates your iPhone like SAM. Anyways, there is NO harm if it uninstalls SAM. You can always re-install it later. Btw, installing MiTime will also fix Push Notifications (like SAM)

Hi, i hd done everything above but for step 15, inside the utilities I didn’t see backup activation, only hv restored activation?
How can I finish step 15???

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

Are you connected to Wifi with an active internet connection? Because backup is done and restored from SAM servers. It can also mean your iPhone was never activated using SAM, so how can SAM backup an unactivated iPhone?

      •
        El5 years, 4 months ago

Yup, I’m connected to wifi with an active connection, but I didn’t see any “backup activation” words in the sam utilities since step 15 hv to tap backup 1st then tap restored to finish the all step before test ipusher. Can let me know how can I do? :(

  •
    SVP5 years, 4 months ago

Ive tried that and dont works! I think the problem is of Push Utils because other people in other forums are having the same problem! and also has the same message! If I fix it with something I tell it here if someone has the same problem!

  •
    SVP5 years, 4 months ago

Hey men! sorry but the push notifications now don´t work and I found the problem but I don´t know how to fix it! the problem is that when I installed sam , it instal ACUtil, Sam , Samprefs and stockify but it didn´t install PushUtil! so then i tried to install but when I installed it , the program delete all the other programs include Sam! But something that I note is a message in SAM that says .
This will cause a SpringBoard to reload upon succes to properly load new push certs if they are restored. Do not be alarmed.

Push Utils: Disabled- Use deactivate then activate with iTunes (There will soon be an option to fetch a push cert from PushDoctor here)

I think the problem is that Push Utils isn´t install! But I don´t know how to install it!
Push Utils only install if sam is delete!

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

Push Utils is not needed when SAM is installed. Uninstall iPusher -> Repeat 15 step here http://bit.ly/i7ceCI -> Reboot your iPhone -> Sync with iTunes -> Install iPusher and see if it works.

  •
    SVP5 years, 4 months ago

I made all steps but when i Sync in iTunes and back up i didn´t get any message! But in the step 12 it also appear in my iphone Wilcard activated! then I do step 15! but i don´t have push notifications! My iphone 4 is unlocked with gevey sim!

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

After step 15, reboot your iPhone and then sync. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi with an active internet connection.

      •
        SVP5 years, 4 months ago

Recently i did that and didn´t work! In my Ip 4 says in SAM, Wilcard Activated! also the app found my iphone now works! but doesn`t work the push notifications! I´ven trying a lot of times step 15 but it dind`t work! Any other solution? Maybe i did something wrong!?

    shahid5 years, 4 months ago

VOILLA !!! This time it works absolutely perfect. I tried step 1 – 13 may times but ITunes kept giving error that Sim card does not appear to be supported. Finally as Wolverine said, I Respring after step 7, Revert Lockdown to Stock, and then open the SAM again and connect with ITunes and succeeded.
One thing more I like to mention here that after many attempts ipusher was not succeeding then i stop the WiFi and test it on 3G/Edge and it worked. I start the WiFi and this time push test was successful on WiFi as well.

Thanks Wolverine, you’ve done a great job………. Hats Off to You !!

HI, i am using iphone 4 with 4.3.2. I used sn0wbreeze to hactivate/jailbreak and used ultrasn0w to unlock it. Now i am trying to activate using sam but receiving same error on Itunes that “The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not apper to be supported”
Does it mean i had to activate it before unlocking it?

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

I usually activate before unlocking and it still works. Also many people respring or reboot iPhone after tapping on Revert Lockdown to Stock button which result in SIM card not supported error message. If you still fail to activate using SAM:
You need to choose your country and carrier manually. To do that:
      1. Open SAM
      2. Go to Method menu
      3. Choose By Country and Carrier and hit the back button
      4. Choose Country menu and select your country. Hit the back button
      5. Choose Carrier menu and select your carrier.
      6. Activate your iPhone by connecting to iTunes. DO NOT close SAM.

If the above steps do not work, try to borrow some other carrier SIM from your friend and activate your iPhone.

I had to bite the bullet and decide to restore with iTunes since Push Doctor is basically not working for anyone. After restoring twice – I got the Stockification error twice, which threw me off because it was after two different restores and two different sources where I found SAM (versions 11 and 10). But after I got it to work the third time, it did everything you said. After the error 1631 message, iPusher still didn’t work. So I tried step 15 a few times, disabling and then restoring the SAM settings and it worked!

Thanks alot you’re a lifesaver (or phone saver!)!

And to anyone who can’t get it to work, back up in iTunes and restore, it’s worth the hassle…Plus I have Pkgbackup so it wasn’t a big deal. Also, reliable WiFi is a must. At home, my wifi is spotty at best, so it gave me a few headaches. Worked right away at work where we have T1.

    Thanks a lot Wolverine.

Hi, for I have iPhone 3GS JB 4.3.2 with snowbreeze hacktivated, I have activated SAM properly but iPusher do not show me the window of success ..

I have to do plz help??

I follow instructions correctly help me

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 5 months ago

      Two things:
      1. When you use iPusher app, make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi with active internet connection! iPusher contacts its server then then sends you response from server in form of a Push Notification.
      2. Repeat step 15.

Do i have to install that when my iPhone 3GS is Factory Unlocked? At the moment i m looking for a solution for the push notifications but for some reason i cant install push doctor nor push fix 1 or 2… any ideas?

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 5 months ago

Nops, you do not need it if you are factory unlocked but installing it won’t harm your iPhone either. To enable Push Notifications on your factory unlocked iPhone, you must sync it completely with iTunes atleast once. If still Push Notifications do not work, use SAM or install Push Doctor from Insanelyi repo!

      •
        Gyorev5 years, 5 months ago

Still not working. Synced it completely (or at least normally, i dont know whats the difference) and tried to install push doctor but i couldnt. It was giving an error while trying ro unpack the package and wouldnt install completely. Then cydia was telling me that the package is not fully installed and has to be removed. I got the utube problem sorted with the youtube fix #3 bu still no fb or ipusher… Any suggestions :)

P.s thanks for the tutorials and the quick response!

        •
          Wolverine5 years, 5 months ago

You need to tell me the error Cydia displays while installing Push Doctor. It must be a dependency issue!

I have the same issue, factory unlocked on 4.3.2 jailbroken via redsn0w. YouTube and stuff works but no push except when I’m on wifi.

          •
            Wolverine5 years, 4 months ago

Repeat step 15 above and also make sure when you use iPusher to install SAM, you are connected to a Wi-Fi with an active internet connection.

    •

I think I figured it out. Go to settings, general and if you see a Profile option. If so, I clicked to remove the “unsigned AT&T” profile and push immediately started working again over 3G.

Hope that resolves your problem as well. Good luck!

I have ios 4.3.2 using snowbreeze 2.6, when i try “revert lockdown” it fails. SAM version 0.1.11-1. rebooting does not help.

    •

U tried to install SAM offline right? Make sure Stockify package is installed in Cydia.

      •

Actually,I installed it over wifi & have uninstalled and reinstall it over wifi.
Stockify is installed – but still “revert lockdown” fails.
I have ultrasnow 1.2.2 installed – I wonder if I should uninstall it first ?

        •

This error is directly related to hacktivation (Not Ultrasn0w). Which tools you used to jailbreak your iPhone?

          •
            cuxux5 years, 5 months ago

Snowbreeze 2.6 to jailbreak + hacktivate (from expert options) on ios 4.3.2

          •
            Wolverine5 years, 5 months ago

I also used Sn0wbreeze 2.6 to jailbreak my iPhone 4 and SAM is working just fine. I would recommend you to recreate iOS 4.3.2 custom IPSW and try restoring it again!

Now i followed this tutorial and installed SAM and did as it says in the tutorial but when i connect to iTunes i get a message “The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not apper to be supported”. What do i do now?

    •
      Wolverine5 years, 5 months ago

You need to choose your country and carrier manually. To do that:
      1. Open SAM
      2. Go to Method menu
      3. Choose By Country and Carrier and hit the back button
      4. Choose Country menu and select your country. Hit the back button
      5. Choose Carrier menu and select your carrier.
      6. Activate your iPhone by connecting to iTunes. DO NOT close SAM.

If the above steps do not work, try to borrow some other carrier SIM from your friend and activate your iPhone.

      •
        Pim5 years, 5 months ago

        FOR EVERYONE:

if you need to tchoose your country and carrier manually, you have to follow the steps but between step 5 and 6 you MUST select de sim ID. if that is empty it won’t work! and you have select the original Carrier:

        http://www.bingner.com/SAM.html#install
If iTunes says invalid SIM, you will need to manually select the appropriate carrier (Original seller of the iPhone) under one of the methods besides “Automatic” and click on a SIMID.
