Download SAM for iOS 4.3 & iOS 4.3.1 [Stockification Failure Error Fixed]

SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) has been updated to fix the Stockification Failure error on all those iDevice which are jailbroken on iOS 4.3 or iOS 4.3.1 using Sn0wbreeze 2.3b4, Sn0wbreeze 2.4b1 or PwnageTool bundles. For those who don't know, SAM allows you to officially activate your iPhone without official carrier SIM. SAM not only allows you to fix the battery drainage issues but also enables Push Notifications and fixes "Cannot connect to YouTube" error.

Steps to Install SAM on iPhone 4/3GS Jailbroken on iOS 4.3 & iOS 4.3.1:

Just follow the step-by-step guide below to install SAM on your iPhone 4/3GS jailbroken on iOS 4.3 or iOS 4.3.1:

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS.

    2. SAM (Cydia)

  2. Tap on the Manage tab at the bottom of Cydia.

    3. SAM (Sources)

  3. Tap on the Sources section. Now tap on the Edit button on the top-right and then tap on the Add button on the top-left. Enter http://repo.bingner.com as Cydia/APT URL and click on Add Source button.

    4. SAM (Repo Address)

  4. Now wait while Cydia updates your sources list.

    5. SAM Repo Update

  5. Once done, click on the Search tab at the bottom of Cydia and enter SAM in search filed.

    6. Search SAM in Cydia

  6. Select SAM from the search results and click on the Install button on the top-right to install SAM.

  7. Once installation is complete, click on the Restart Springboard button and follow this guide to activate your iPhone officially using SAM.

Note: DO NOT install SAM from any other repo as all repos have hosted old version of SAM which will result in Stockification Failure error. Still if you are willing to install SAM from any other repo, make sure that SAM v0.1.11-1. Also before installing SAM, make sure your Cydia is upgraded to v1.1. The above procedure to install SAM is valid for iPhone 4/3GS/3G running iOS 4.0, iOS 4.1, iOS 4.2.1, iOS 4.3 and iOS 4.3.1. I have tested it myself on my iPhone 4 jailbroken on iOS 4.3 and iOS 4.3.1.

    I installed sam from cydia, and it restarted on its own after completing the download, and when my phone turned back on it said activation required, and after i try to activate it said that my sim card is not valid. i can not get past this screen i took it in to my provider and they tried my sim card in a different phone and it worked on that phone, so the problem is in my phone and not my sim card. Is there any way to get around this issue?

    I had same problem with i4 iOS5.0.1 and baseband 4.11.08. I couldn't install SAM properly and got red erros like: ''trying to overwritte..''...........''sub-process''........... That was probably because my cydia was not updated or i had an old version. So after getting those errors i deleted SAM. Then I reinstalled the latest version of redsnow 0.9.10b8b to mi iphone without deleting the previous cydia i had installed, and from there i did the unlock steps and worked great!!
    if anyone gets problems installing SAM and u see red errors that's probably because your cydia is not updated!!

    thanks for the reply - no wifi card - ive manually (with funbox) installed ultrasn0w, and it IS there under ‘installed’ cydia apps, but it's shaded and not with a green tick.

    seems 4.2.1 with baseband 5.15.04 can only be unlocked by 'installing iPad baseband to unlock, which will lose GPS over 3G connectivity'

    looks like i should have backed up the unlocked state with TinyUmbrella FIRST (in case that helps anyone else) =)

      Obviously that's the reason why it wasn't working in the first place. 05.15.04 is an Ultrasn0w unsupported BB & the only way to get your iPhone unlocked is by installing the iPad BB on your iPhone. NO, you cannot back up your unlocked state on TU. TU is meant only for the iOS backup. Preserving the BB is to be done by the users themselves.

    hi thx for your reply - i was stuck at the emergency call screen, (couldnt get past screen into phone to open cydia) which i think i bypassed by booting via redsn0w. i now dont have a net connection (with working sim IN) so am wondering if 'bypassing' activation mucks up the connection so should maybe try a SAM deb file and install via funbox?

    so the jailbreak resets the unlock,ultrasn0w is under 'installed' cydia apps, but shaded and not with a green tick - will try reinstalling or other versions
    (afc2dd and openssh shaded also with no tick, so installed openssh bundle/gtz via redsnow boot menu)
    maybe i should just start all over again lol - bit of n00by mess =)
    3gs. os 4.2.1 os maybe i should upgrade

      Nope, never make the mistake of ever updating your iOS. All you need to do is get onto a Wi-Fi internet connectivity & install Ultrasn0w & any other apps that you like from Cydia itself. Make sure that Cydia updates itself first when your on the internet via Wi-Fi.

    how can i do step 1 (open cydia) to (install SAM) activate phone, when the j'broke phone will not go to cydia without (SAM being installed) being activated?!

      You'll definitely need one as the .deb files out there (for manual installation) are outdated. Also SAM has alot of dependencies that comes along with it which are updated as well. Unlike Ultrasn0w, SAM is updated frequently and hence getting yourself onto Wi-Fi/3G is the most appropriate method of installation.

      Uninstall and re-install SAM along with its dependencies that you can find within Cydia. After that, reinstall the same. It should work fine then.

      Yo tuve el mismo problema y lo he resuelto así:

      -Desinstala SAM (¡Stockify y Acutil no se deseinstalan junto a SAM!)
      -Busca y desinstala STOCKIFY
      -Busca y desinstala ACUTIL

      -Reinstala nuevamente SAM del repo http://repo.bingner.com

      NO INSTALES SAM DE NINGUN OTRO REPO

      Lo que te ha pasado es que has instalado STOCKIFY y ACUTIL de otro repo que son antiguas y no son compatibles con la versión mas reciente de SAM. Al reinstalar SAM del repo http://repo.bingner.com obtendrás las versiones mas recientes de Stockyfy y Acutil y SAM te deberá de funcionar perfectamente.

      Ahora en inglés/now in english:

      I had the same problem and I fixed it like this:

      -Uninstall SAM (Stockify and acutil will not uninstall along with SAM!)
      -Search and uninstall STOCKIFY
      -Search and uninstall ACUTIL

      -Reinstall SAM from repo http://repo.bingner.com

      DO NOT INSTALL SAM FROM ANY OTHER REPO

      What had happen is that you installed old versions of stockify and acutil from another repo that are not comapible with the latests version of SAM. As you reinstall SAM form repo http://repo.bingner.com you will get the latests version of stockify and acutil and SAM now should work fine.

    Downloaded SAM but when opening I got a grey screen with the message "There was an error loading the preference bundle for SAM" and just that, any thought?

        Found what was wrong. After several Install/Uninstall attemps, I discovered that other two applications ACUTIL and STOKIFY was installed previusly and usually did not uninstall along with SAM. After a manual removal of stokify and acutil (in that order), I reinstalled SAM and "voila", everything went as your examples. The fix procedure for the push notifications were requiered as iPush did´nt show any success message at the first try. FT working pretty good. Thanks!

    I have iPhone 4.3.1 which is locked with AT&T .
    Recently I installed SAM but I am still unable to unlocked.
    I followed all the steps carefully and repeatedly but still not working.
    PLEASE HELP

      SAM can not unlock your iPhone. It just activates your iPhone with a virtual official carrier SIM. If you have AT&T SIM, you do not need to use SAM. Also unlocking of iPhone depends on its baseband and only Ultrasn0w can unlock your iPhone.

      Yep this works on iOS 4.3.2 and i have tested it myself on my iPhone 4 http://bit.ly/i7ceCI. Installing SAM improves your battery and enables fully working Push Notifications on your iPhone.

    Just had a conversation wth Sam on Twitter. The only thing to get it working for me is to back up and then restore in SAM. He told me that resets all push activity and now push is working just fine.

        First, update to the latest version (just released).
        After you've de-activated in SAM, activated in iTunes, go to SAM settings/utilities and choose Backup Activation, followed by Restore Activation. This was the only way I could get push working.

    i have exactly same problem as Nisei... installed very first app after stock 4.3.1 using tinyumbrella to preserve baseband 1.59..
    its wildcard activated... but the main reason for which i installed is Push notifications, which is still not working :( any solution?bcaz i really miss push notifications....

    Although this seemed to work for me (Wilcard Activated) push is stll not working.
    When using Push Doctor afterwards everything seemed to work again but when I use Push Checker it says I don't have a unique push ID and I'm not receiving any push messages.
    I never got an "iPhone Activated" message from iTunes so what's going wrong here?
    I'm using a 3GS with firmware 4.3.1 on baseband 6.15 jailbroken with Sn0wbreeze 2.5.1 and unlocked with Ultrasn0w fixer for 4.3.1
    Please help...

      You will never see iPhone activated message on iTunes or on your iPhone. Wildcard activated tells it all. Ideally it should have enabled Push Notifications on your iPhone but even if it didn't dude to some reason, this will surely improve your battery life. SAM is the very first Cydia app you should install after restoring your iPhone with custom IPSW to make it work properly.

        I have no idea what the battery life should be without any hack because I've just bought the phone from someone so this is the first time I'm using it.
        I did everything exactly as described (SAM was the first thing I installed after the JB) but I'm losing about 25% battery power overnight with no apps running. That would be 2 days of stand by time (without any use) which seems pretty short to me. When I enable Flight Mode it hardly consumes any power at all.
