Many users reported screen flickering issues on their Apple TV 2G after iOS 4.2 update and Apple promised them that it will fix the issue in next iOS update. Keeping its promise, Apple has just released iOS 4.2.1 (Based on iOS 4.3) for Apple TV 2G which fixes all screen flickering and incorrect color issues on the 2nd-Gen Apple TV. The IPSW version is still 4.3 but but the build number has been changed from 8F191m to 8F202.

To update your Apple TV to iOS 4.2.1, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Settings > General using your Apple Remote.
- Choose Update Software from the displayed menu. Now Apple TV will check if new software update is available or not. If update is available, it will show two options i-e Download Now & Download Later.
- Choose Download Now to download iOS 4.2.1 firmware update. During the update process, do not disconnect the power of your Apple TV,
