CDMA iPhone 4 launch has been a great success for both Apple and Verizon Wireless. Now that it's out, the very next question which strikes our mind is whether Apple will be releasing iPhone 5 to Verizon customers this June? Well, no one really knows.
We know that Apple usually showcases new iPhones at WWDC every year so iPhone 5 is pretty much on the cards, having said that, it's little hard to digest that Apple would release another iPhone to Verizon customers in only six months. Another big question is that whether iPhone 5 would be a dual-mode phone (compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks)? or it will be another GSM phone?
New York Times reporter recently suggested that Apple may release iPhone 5 to Verizon Wireless customers this summer but Apple won't confirm this as no one will buy iPhone 4 then.
Remember, too, that so far, Apple has released a new iPhone model every July. Apple won’t say if there will be an iPhone 5 for Verizon this summer. (“Let’s put it this way: We’re not stupid,” is all an Apple rep would say.) But if it does, and you buy an iPhone 4 now, you’ll be stuck with an outdated phone in only five months.
I guess we'll have to wait and see, we can not rule out iPhone 5 launch at WWDC 2011. If iPhone 5 is a doul-mode phone it can be launched on both Verizon and AT&T simultaneously. Stay tuned for more updates.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
