How to Add Telesphoreo Tangelo (Saurik) Repo to Cydia Manually?

Do you know the creator of Cydia has got his very own repository? Yes, its the Telesphoreo Tangelo Repo aka Saurik Repo which is pre-installed on your Cydia whenever you jailbreak your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. Just in case, if you accidentally removed the Saurik repo from your Cydia or for some reason its not present in your Cydia sources list, you can add it manually by using the step-by-step guide below.

Cydia Sources

Steps to Add Telesphoreo Tangelo (Saurik) Repo to Cydia Manually:

  1. Download file (saurik.list) from here. If for some reason you have no internet access to download this file, you can create it manually by using the instructions below:
    • Open Notepad in Windows or TextEdit in Mac and copy-paste the code below in your text-editor:

      • # do not edit this file to add your own custom sources
      # this file is subject to be upgraded as part of a package
      # either add your own .list file to /etc/apt/sources.list.d
      # or add your entry to the global /etc/apt/sources.list file

      deb http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo-3.7 main
      #deb-src http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo main

    • Once done, save the file by choosing Save As option from the File menu and name it saurik.list as shown in the screenshot below:

  2. Now you need to SSH into your iDevice and place saurik.list file to the following location:

    3. root->private->etc->apt->sources.list.d

  3. To SSH into your iDevice, you need a SSH client. You can use WinSCP for Windows and CyberDuck for Mac. Ofcourse you will be needing a Wifi router in order to SSH into your device. If you don't have a Wifi router, you can always use DiskAid or iPhone Explorer to explore the file system of your iDevice without SSH. I will recommend you to use iPhone Explorer as it is free, stable and compatible with all iDevices.

    4. Adding Saurik Repo Manually

  4. Thats it, once you have placed saurik.list file in sources.list.d directory. Close iPhone Explorer and reboot your iDevice to access Saurik repo from your Cydia.

Please note that adding http://apt.saurik.com/ to Cydia via Cydia/APT URL will result in Did not Find Repository error. So you need to add this repo to Cydia via SSH or by using programs like DiskAid or iPhone Explorer.

    i fixed the problem. I added the bigboss source in a smiliar way noted at the top and it worked and i installed the whatspad with no problems. but my " Telesphoreo Tangelo " source still has no files inside it but never mind that. Thanks for replying to my post.

    what do u mean by dependencies / conflicts? the problems i have right now is that there are no files inside the sources (in my ipad > cydia) i used the iphone explorer to install saurik.list into the sources.list.d , i tried it 3 times but it never worked , and my internet connection is working fine ..

      Well, that's what you had stated in your last post. The requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependences or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed. So, I suggest you to scroll down towards the bottom of the same Cydia page & read what are those dependencies / conflicts.

    HELP !! PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS!!! i did all the above steps but when i re-boot my iPad, go to cydia > sources > Telesphoreo Tangelo . there are no files in the source ... thus, can't install big boss repo , and when i search for Whatspad i can find it but i can't install it because of the error : " The requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependences or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed. "

      Are you sure that your on a valid internet n/w? What are the dependencies / conflicts?
