Remember Recboot? Yes the same software which could send your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad into recovery mode just with a mere click. Sebastien, the developer of RecBoot is back with RecBoot 2.0, a major update which can now detect the name, model, firmware, serial and the mode of a connected iDevice.
Thanks to @AriX, I was able to complete and finalise the latest instalment of RecBoot. Almost a year in waiting, I am proud to announce that the final version of 2.0 is available for download.
Here's what was added.
1. Device detection.
2. Mode detection.
3. NO MOAR CRASHING.
For those who don't know, RecBoot is a free open-source utility which can help you to put your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into recovery mode in case your device has a faulty home or power button. It also helps you to kick your iDevice out of recovery mode loop and fixes the iTunes 1015 error just with a single-click.
Usage of RecBoot 2.0 is very simple. Just connect your iDevice to your Mac and click on the 'Enter Recovery' button to put your iDevice into recovery mode. Similarly to kick your iDevice out of recovery mode, use the 'Exit Recovery' button. Unlike previous version of RecBoot, this version can show the name, model, firmware and serial number of the connected device. RecBoot 2.0 also informs you if the connected device is already in recovery mode.
Unfortunately, RecBoot 2.0 is only available for Mac OS X users. To use this release, you must be running Mac OS X 10.6.x or above. If you are a Windows user, can always give RecBoot 1.0.1 or RecBoot 1.3 a try.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
