Get New Android Market on Samsung Galaxy S & Google Nexus One Now!

Google is now pushing the new revamped Android Market to all of the Android devices running on Android 1.6 or later. Thanks to the hackers at XDA-Developers, now you can install the new Android Market on your Android device without waiting for the slow OTA update to come to your phone.

The first thing you will notice about the new Android Market is its carousel interface on the home and category screen. Two new categories have been introduced namely Widgets and Live Wallpapers. If you are using old Android Market, you can claim a full and unconditional refund within 24 hours if you are not satisfied with the purchased app, however the new Android Market decreases this timespan to 15 mins only.

New Android Market

Google has also added some behind-the-scenes changes which will now show only those apps which are compatible with your Android device based on screen size, pixel density and OpenGL support. Anyways, if you want to try the new Android Market on your Nexus One or Galaxy S running Android 2.1 or Android 2.2, just download the APK from the download link below and install it to enjoy the fully revamped Android Market on your Android device.

IMPORTANT: Before you may install these APKs, make sure to make a full NANDROID backup.

Download New Market for Android 2.2/2.2.1 (Froyo)
Download New Market for Android 2.1 and earlier

NOTE: I have tested the new Android Market on my Desire HD, Galaxy Tab, Nexus One on Android 2.2.1 (Rooted) and Galaxy S on Android 2.2 (Rooted). So i do not guarantee if these APKs will work for other Android devices or not. If you have successfully installed and used the new Android Market on devices other than Nexus One or Galaxy S, please do update us in comments.

Oh and if I put a reboot in between, the app installs but crashes right after opening it. Epic fail, iyam.

You may have tested it all you want, but my 2.2.1 Nexus One says “Application not installed” after trying to install it.

Are you sure you didn’t do anything else?
