Remember the new version of Google Maps which Andy Rubin demoed at D: Dive Into Mobile conference last week? Yup! as promised, Google has pushed the new version of Google Maps (v5.0) to all devices running Android 1.6 or higher. The new vector based version of Google Maps is powered by amazing 3D map view and offline navigation.
With new Google Maps app, now you can cache your most frequently visited locations or entire trips that have been routed in Navigation, including potential reroutes. The vector based graphics approach allows you to tilt the map with a two finger swipe to view buildings and landscapes in 3D. Currently, this 3D feature is only supported by devices running Android 2.0 or higher.
