Good news for iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, Apple TV and iPad users. According to iPhone Dev-Team they have figured out a way which would eventually lead to untethered jailbreak of all future firmwares on iDevices powered by Apple A4 chips. MuscleNerd, who happens to be a member of iPhone Dev-Team confirmed this via his Twitter account just a while ago.
Update via MuscleNerd:
Acc. to iPhone Dev-Team, the unpatchable bootrom exploit used in Limera1n and Comex kernel hacks combo will enable PwnageTool to do an untethered jailbreak of all future iOS updates (including iOS 4.2) on iDevices with A4 chips. For those who don't know, untethered jailbreak means you won't loose your jailbreak in case your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad looses its battery power or turns off due to any other reason. Tethered jailbreak means you have to re-jailbreak your device on every restart.
