iPhone-Dev Team has finally managed to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPod Touch 4G using the PwnageTool based on SHAtter exploit. For those who don't know, SHAtter is a low-level bootrom exploit discovered by pod2g of Chronic Dev-Team and it can be used to jailbreak iOS devices including iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and iPad.

iPhone-Dev Team released a video in which they showed iPod Touch 4G running Cydia, Root Shell and other customized preferences possible on a jailbroken device like battery percentage etc.
Note that unlike exploit used by Comex in JailbreakMe, SHAtter is a low-level bootrom exploit which can never be fixed using any software update by Apple. Although iPhone Dev-Team used PwnageTool based on SHAtter exploit in the above video, yet they said that more faster tools are are already being developed by Chronic Dev-Team to jailbreak all iOS devices using the SHAtter exploit.
The final tool which will jailbreak iOS 4.1 on all iOS devices will be called Greenpois0n (Unconfirmed). As it will be a low-level bootrom bootrom exploit, so you will need to connect your device to your PC via USB cable for jailbreaking purpose.
