pod2g just confirmed that iOS 4.1 final version is jailbreakable using new bootrom exploit he discovered yesterday. Previously he tested the exploit on iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.1 and now he confirmed the possibility of iOS 4.1 jailbreak using the new bootrom exploit.
pod2g confirmed this via his Twitter account:
For those who don't know, pod2g is a member of Chronic Dev-Team and he found the very first bootrom exploit known as 24kpwn which caused untethered jailbreak on iPhone 3GS (Old bootrom) and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC) models. Later Apple fixed the 24kpwn exploit with the release of iPhone 3GS (New bootrom) and iPod Touch 2G (MC) models. However like 24kpwn, this new low-level bootrom exploit is impossible to repair using any software updates, so Apple again have to release new models of all iOS devices to fix this exploit.
