Yup its true! Updating your iPhone to iOS 4.1 beta 2 (Jailbreakable) will upgrade its baseband to 05.14.01 which cannot be unlocked using Ultrasn0w 0.93. Apple patched the exploit which enabled Ultrasn0w 0.93 to unlock iPhone 3G, 3GS running iOS 4.0 / iOS 4.0.1 with baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04.

The infamous iPhone baseband hacker Sherif Hashim confirmed that the exploit used in Ultrasn0w 0.93 is completely patched in iOS 4.1 beta 2 and upgrading to it will leave your iPhone in an unlocked state. Moreover if you will upgrade your iPhone to iOS 4.1, you won't be able to jailbreak it with the upcoming Spirit like tool by Comex. Acc. to Comex, his next update of Spirit will only jailbreak iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.0.1 on all iDevices.
