Sync iPhone / iPod Touch to iTunes Without Losing Apps

If you have downloaded any app directly on your iPhone or iPod Touch by using the built-in App Store then you might loose those apps on syncing your device with iTunes. So here is a simple tip which will stop iTunes from deleting those apps which you directly bought and downloaded on your device by using the built-in App Store app.

All you need is to transfer your purchases from your iPhone to iTunes. You can do it in two ways!
First one is by navigating to File menu and then choose Transfer Purchases from "Your iPhone"

2nd method is more simple. Just right click on the name of your device from the sidebar menu and choose "Transfer Purchases".

Thats it. iTunes will automatically transfer all of those apps which you directly purchased from the built-in iTunes Store in your device. Now click on the Sync button and iTunes will not remove any of your purchased apps. If you still have any confusion, check out the video demo below:

    hi! a newbie here and really need your help. First, just wanna know if the Transfer Purchases option will transfer just the PAID apps or even the free ones I've downloaded using Installous?

    Also, I'm having trouble with GPRS of Iphone 3Gs. I keep getting "Could not activate cellular data network. You are not subscribed to a cellular data service" whenever I try to access the internet. Wifi works fine. But as for the GPRS settings, I have already entered the correct APN of the network (I'm in the Philippines and provider is Globe Telecom-PH) a friend have tried accessing the internet before using this phone with her own sim card and it worked fine, we have the same network provider, so I'm not sure if it's my sim that has a prob or what. Any thoughts on this? by the way, mine is Iphone 3GS ver 4.2.1 and firmware 06.15 (if it helps)

      Yes, it'll transfer all the apps onto your iTunes app library as well. AppSync which gets installed along with Installous makes this happen for you. As for your GPRS issue, it seems like your SIM isn't activated for a GPRS package at all. Call up your network carrier to verify the same and ask them to activate one for you.

    @wolverine-thank u very much.. U have helpedme alot before..i itouch4g os 4.1.2 was working fine with good wifi internet speed but recently the speed has dropped to 2 to 3kb/s..i knw its not the problem of router..its something with my itouch..should I restore and jailbreak it again or is there a solution for it..and if I restore m afraid that I'll have to download everything I have agian and its goons take time and effort.. I know what m askIng is not related to this post,but m having prob and tried to search everywhere but couldn't find solution..thanks
