How To Run iFile on iOS 4? [Black Screen Issue Fixed]

You might have noticed that iFile app is not working on iOS 4 due to black screen problem, thats is if you try to run iFile on iOS 4 you will see a black screen on your iPhone showing you to options to browse through the file system of your device. I just figured out the solution to this issue which i would like to share. Just follow the step by step guide below to install iFile app on your iPhone / iPod Touch running iOS 4 and fix the blank screen issue.

Install iFile App on iOS 4

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iDevice.
  2. Click on the "Manage" button at the bottom.
  3. Click on the "Sources" section.
  4. Click on "Edit" button at the top left of Cydia.
  5. Click on "Add" button at the top right of Cydia.
  6. Enter "http://www.sinfuliphonerepo.com" as Cydia/APT URL and click on "Add Source" button.
  7. Wait while Cydia update your sources.
  8. Thats it! Now click on the "Search" tab at the bottom and search for "iFile".
  9. Click on "iFile Cracked v1.2.0-1c" and install it!

Fix iFile Blank Screen Issue

Go to your iPhone Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> Set Time & Date and change the date to 18th March 2010. Thats it! :D

    Doesn't work on my 3Gs...
    also on the lockscreen this is the date, but iFile shows the default image and nothing happens.

    You will no longer need to change system date with these update.
    Add this below repo to cydia sources and find iFile v.1.3.0 and install it. It worked for me.

      Added the source above, but there's no iFile in there...only an ip firewall app :-/ hope someone finds another solution, because I miss iFile

    wow wtf lol cant believe it worked, you just cant change you date after :P, have to put to 18th of march everyday... i feel like 50 first dates :P

      Yes but after ? once you put the date back, iFile has black screen again !

        Hi Al,

        Try giving your iDevice a hard reboot and try again. It works, I've tested it myself.

          Maybe you mean hard reset? And should i hard reset it while having 18th march as date or after reverting it back to original? Because so far it only works when the date is < 22th march. Otherwise if the timebomb can't be fixed, then why shouldn't we download the latest official iFile, change the registration ID (google ifile-keygen) and use it just like this, with changing the date?

          Its working fine on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4. I installed iFile v1.3.0-1.
