Couple of days ago P0sixninja, man behind the GreenPois0n tool, released a set of source files for Spirit tool which could help you to jailbreak your iDevice on Linux via terminal. You can still download the binaries from here if you are good at using Linux terminal. For all those who have no experience of using Linux terminal, now there is a GUI version of Spirit tool available for download.
This Linux build of Spirit has been tested in Ubuntu 10.4. Use of Spirit tool in Linux is almost same as in Windows and Mac, all you have to do is to connect your iDevice with your computer via USB cable and hit the jailbreak button.
For those who don't know: Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iPhone OS 3.1.2, iPhone OS 3.1.2 and iPad OS 3.2. You can follow our step-by-step guide here to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 & 3.1.2 with Spirit tool. If you are an iPad user, follow this guide to jailbreak iPad OS 3.2 with Spirit tool.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
