How to Recover Deleted Photos After Jailbreaking with Spirit on Windows and Mac?

We just shared that updated version of Spirit tool has been released by Dev-Team. Photo Deletion issue and Windows errors are taken care of in latest version, but if you lost your photos during jailbreak process, you can follow this tutorial to recover you deleted pictures provide you saved or created a backup of your SHSH Blobs.

Pre-Requisites

  • OpenSSH installed on your iDevice
  • iPhone Backup Extractor, 32Bit or 64Bit for Windows, MAC users can download from here
  • WinSCP software for Windows, and CyberDuck for MAC

Steps for Recovering Deleted Photos during Spirit Jailbreak, on Win

  1. Download iPhone Backup Extractor and Install it on your iDevice.
  2. Select the last backup you created with AutoSHSH Grabber RC2 or Firmware Umbrella before using Spirit, and hit next.

  3. You can now choose to restore backup automatically or manually. Choose manually option and click next.

  4. Now expand the Media folder and "check" all option within Media folder as shown. Click next to proceed.
  5. Now select the path where you want to save the backup, recommendation is to select "desktop", click next to proceed and backup extractor may take some time, don't hurry, give it some time.
  6. Now SSH into iPhone using WinSCP and navigate to /User/Media/ directory and drag-and-drop the DCIM folder you backed up into your iPhone and overwrite the existing files.

Steps for Recovering Deleted Photos during Spirit Jailbreak, on MAC OS

  1. Download iPhone Backup Extractor for MAC and Install it on your iDevice.
  2. Now click "Read Backup" and select the latest backup you created with AutoSHSH Grabber RC2 or Firmware Umbrella before using Spirit

  3. After this, click "Chose" and select "iPhone OS Files" and click "Extract"
  4. Now chose the folder to take the backup, when you click "Choose" software may take some time. Also you will need to select the path for backup, we recommend to select Desktop
  5. After the process is completed, you will see a folder named "iPhone OS Files" at your selected path, open that folder and navigate to /Media/DCIM/ and you will find all of you deleted pictures taken by the iPhone.
  6. Enable the SSH on the iPhone and open CyberDuck port within the directory /User/Media/.
  7. Now SSH into iPhone using CyberDuck and navigate to /User/Media/ directory and drag-and-drop the DCIM folder you created into your iPhone and overwrite the existing files.

That's all. You should now have your deleted photos back in your iDevice.
