iPad 3G: Data Plans, Unboxing and Pricing Details

There were rumors about iPad 3G shipping getting delayed due to huge number of pre-orders, but it's not the case. Apple has just officially confirmed that the device will be available to U.S. consumers who have pre-ordered it on Friday, April 30. For those who don't know: Unlike WiFi iPad, WiFi+3G model has a luxury of using 3G cellular networks. Moreover, 3G iPad automatically switch between a 3G network and a Wi-Fi hotspot to offer the best connection available.

3G Data Plans for iPad

Currently, AT&T in US is offering 3G services for iPad with very reasonable price tags. There are two data plan deals available, 250MB or unlimited data usage. Best part is that there is no contract, you can sign-up and cancel your services/contract any time you want and you don't have to visit AT&T store nearby for making modifications. All stuff like account management, data usage and contract medications can be done online, right from your iPad!

Have a look at unboxing pictures of iPad 3G and it's comparison with WiFi iPad, the only difference is that iPad 3G has a black strip on it's top and a SIM slot for data services, rest both iPads look pretty much similar to each other.

Pricing

WiFi+3G iPad models are available for a retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB. The price tag is little higher than WiFi iPad but in return you can use internet services on the go, so depends upon how you want to use your iPad. I think paying little above $100 for 3G services isn't a bad deal.
