If you are new iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad user, the first thing you need is to create an iTunes account. Incase you are a U.S. resident, you can create an iTunes account without any credit-card or PayPal account. However if you are not a U.S. resident then you will need to provide your credit-card information during the signup process. When you download and install iTunes, it sets your country to United States by default. The following guide will explain how you can create an iTunes account if you are a U.S. or non U.S. resident.
iTunes Account For U.S. & Non-U.S. iPhone Users:
- Download iTunes.
- Install iTunes you downloaded in the above step.
- After installation, launch iTunes and look for "iTunes Store" in the sidebar. If you are a U.S. resident, jump to step 6.
- Once iTunes loads "iTunes Store" scroll down and click on the U.S. flag at the bottom right.
- Select your country.
- Now iTunes will load the App Store for your country. Once loaded click on "Account" under the Quick links option.
- Click on "Create Account" button.
- Click "Continue" button.
- Again click "Continue" button to accept license agreement.
- Now enter required information and hit "Continue" button.
- Non-U.S. users will not require to enter their credit-card information while U.S. users should select "None" as payment method. Ofcourse U.S. users can also enter their credit-card info if they want.
- Once you fill the above required info, click "Done" button!

Follow step 4 to make sure your country is United States. 2ndly click on the App Store in menu bar and then select "Account" from the "Quick Links". Don't click on "Sign In" button at the top-right to create an account, it will do a signup for "iTunes U" which will not show "None" option in payment type during the signup process.
