iPhoDroid is a tool created by Sergio Mcfly which allows you to install Android OS on iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G easily. The installer actually copies all files on your iPhone which are necessary to run Android on it. All you need is a jailbroken iPhone 2G or 3G running on firmware 3.1.x with OpenSSH installed on it. Currently iPhoDroid is Beta and is only available for Mac OS X.
- Jailbroken iPhone 2G or 3G running on firmware 3.1.x (3.1.3 not supported).
- OpenSSH with default password (alpine). If you haven’t installed it yet, download it for free from Cydia.
- Your iPhone must be jailbroken with Blackra1n or PwnageTool. If you have jailbreaked your iDevice with Comex’s Spirit tool, then you are out of luck at the moment.
- MacFuse: You can download it from here.
Usage of iPhoDroid is extremely simple but before you may begin, you have to disable the automatic locking feature of your iPhone. To do so proceed to Settings->General->Auto Lock and set it to “Never”. Download and install MacFuse. Download iPhoDroid from here. Once downloaded, extract the archive and run the installer. Initially it will take about 7 minutes but the subsequent steps will take approximately 2 mins each. Incase your installation timings exceeds, you should consider a re-install.
