Share

Finally Android 2.2 with codename "Froyo" has been officially announced at Google I/O, 2010. Here are the new features - an improved compiler, which brings a 2-5x speed boost to the system, better cloud-to-device messaging API which as per Google is much better than "push notifications" service which is designed to cover up basic necessities such as "multitasking" etc, WiFi tethering - which was used to get a WiFi iPad online! :) Also, Google introduced a new JavaScript engine in the Android browser and couple of Chrome browser plugins for directions/Google maps.

Froyo will be available in June for download, great news for Nexus One and other Android users. Other updates include full flash support, a widget to search android apps, an improved browser (Google is claiming that it's the fastest one on earth) and apps could now be installed in your SD card.
