According to a recent tweet by Comex, he will be releasing Spirit Jailbreak tomorrow (Friday, April 30, 2010). Through Spirit you will be able to jailbreak (untethered) iPhone OS 3.1.3 and iPad OS 3.2 on all iDevices with newer bootrom. You won't be able to unlock your iDevices via Spirit as its not an unlocking tool, but a jailbreaking tool similar to blackra1n. Those who want to jailbreak their iPhones or iPad using Spirit should avoid the iTunes 9.1.1 update.
Conversation between @Wahoofan5 & @Comex:

According to the above conversation between Comex and Wahoofan5, it is most likely that Spirit jailbreak will be released tomorrow. However when iHackintosh talked to chpwn over IRC about the expected Spirit jailbreak tomorrow, chpwn said that Comex is very optimistic about Spirit and he don't see a Friday release possible.
Below is a small snippet from the conversation:

As far as unlock of iDevices on all latest firmwares is concerned, you may have to wait until Next-Gen iPhone is released. Geohot and iPhone Dev Team already have got exploit which can unlock iPhone OS 3.1.3 and iPhone OS 4.0, however they are not going to waste the exploit by releasing an unlocking tool for these minor updates.
