There are rumors that Apple will introduce a new mobile advertising system named iAd on April 7th, iAd is being termed as Apple's / Steve Job's "next big thing". As per some analysts, Apple has planned to unveil iAd in conjunction with shipment date of iPad. iAd platform is believed to be based on Quattro Wireless, a mobile advertising company acquired by Apple in Jan for 275 million USD.
"Everyone will be following this very closely," says Josh Lovison, the mobile lead at Interpublic's Emerging Media Lab, adding: "Given the way that Apple is able to package things up, with very slick presentations, it will be interesting to see what they do with that advertising."
It's a bold move from Apple to step into mobile advertising arena, Google hold the crown in web advertising at the moment and has plans to step into mobile space, so this move would probably put both companies against each other in mobile advertising field.
