Wonder how you can download Facebook videos when you are addicted to Google Chrome? Yes you can easily download Facebook videos from Google Chrome's cache once they are completely streamed. Accessing Google Chrome cache is not that easy. So you have to download ChromeCacheView, a freeware software which enables you to access and download files from Google Chrome's cache.
Once Google Chrome is installed, just download ChromeCacheView. ChromeCacheView requires no installation as its portable. Now go to Facebook and watch / stream any video. Now open ChromeCacheView.exe and it will display you with the list of all files present in the cache. If ChromeCacheView.EXE is already running then click the Refresh button in the toolbar. Now sort the list according to Content Type and look for MP4 file. Select it and press Ctrl+S or simply navigate to File->Save Selected Items. Ur done! Enjoy the Facebook video in MP4 format!
You can follow the same procedure to download any video you view on Google Chrome like YouTube Videos, MegaVideo Videos etc. We have already shared number to tools to access cache of different web-browsers. You may also like to view other Google Chrome tips and tricks for Facebook here.

Brilliant does the job, but as everyone else say
I’ve downloaded chromecacheview but actually I can’t find in it’s list the video I’ve watch so what can I do?
Thanks for pointing out that we should choose “Copy Selected Cache Files…” instead of to File/Save. It worked when I tried to download a video from Facebook, but not when I tried to download from YouTube.
Heisenberg says: ” choose “Copy Selected Cache Files To…””
And that’s it! Thanks so much! This line above should appear in the description by default, not in the commenst if I may ask, for the sake of others luck.
Thank you again.
Hey, I want to really express how thankful I am for your article!
However, I did find that this only worked with selecting “Copy to…” from file menu, as mentioned in another comment.
I know this is an older article, but please consider fixing it! :)
Sorry, but it didn’t work. when i tried to save the file it was saved in text file format. so i think it you should have some solution for it.
I had the same problem as well, then I found that if you double click the file it shows you the link of the video, copy and paste to your google chrome, then you’ll have a new window with the video. Right click the video and you’ll be able to download it.
Thanks!
the video doesn’t show up on the cache?, does it have something to do with the prvacy?
thankf for comments.. it helped.. great stuff!!
Hi…i’m following this method but when it searches for cache and just find 18 results. So there’s any time limit for when i watched that video before? thx
It will display all FLV files in your cache. You must stream a full video in your browser before using this software. I don’t think partially streamed videos will be there in your browser cache.
Thank you for sharing information, it is good resource to know how you can download the streamed video.
when i open the program and watch a video nothing shows up in the list , everything is still blank. what am i doing wrong?

Its only saving the video, not the audio. I tried the three methods stated.
it only saves as a text file??????? help
F4
Thank you for the sharing.. Its too easy :)
even then , only the audio is getting saved not the visual part..
how to save it ?
Its because you are not using the proper video codec :P
It’s not working for me. It saves as .txt not as mp4.
Well Recep, if you want to save a file by using ChromeCacheView then first you should select the file by clicking on it and then choose “Copy Selected Cache Files To…” from the file menu. Another way is to select the file you want to save and hit F4 key on your keyboard!
That solved my problem too. Awesome, thanks!
Also, if you select your file then hit f6 or select “Open link in web browser” CCV will save the file in its proper format in your download folder and show it in the download bar at the bottom of Chrome.
Thanx man F6 solved everything. Amazing stuff .
