Earlier, we shared that a Chronic Dev Team is working on a tool named GreenPoison to jailbreak iPad OS 3.2. As the team is asking for donations prior to software/tool release, so there are thought/rumors about this tool being a fake like Gull1hack, but to clear any ambiguities regarding GreenPois0n, the developer of the tool (p0sixninja) has posted a detailed post to prove the legitimacy of GreenPois0n. According to them, they found an exploit in the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware which will be able to unlock and jailbreak iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), and iPod touch 3G untethered, they didn't release much details other than justifications about their work and their need for an iPad.
Sherif Hashim, an iPhone developer/hacker also found an exploit in iPhone 3.1.3 firmware for 05.12.01 Baseband, he rather shared it with iPhone Dev-Team and they confirmed that it's working fine but they didn't release it for firmware 3.1.3, guess they are waiting for a major updates such as iPhone 3.2 or iPhone 4.0 or next-generation iPhone 4G.
Let's see if Chronic Dev Team gets enough donations for getting their hands on iPad in time. In the mean, you can go through our step-wise tutorials on jailbreaking iPhone 2G/3G/3GS and iPhone Touch 1G/2G on firmware 3.1.3 using redsn0w 0.9.4, sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool 3.1.5. Unlocking can be done using ultrasn0w or blacksn0w.
