How To Get Warned Before Closing Multiple Tabs In Google Chrome

Its quite annoying when sometimes you accidentally press the close button and Google Chrome closes all opened tabs without warning you. Mozilla Firefox provides you with the option to save your work along with the warning before closing multiple tabs. "Windows Close Protector" is a useful Google Chrome extension which gives you a warning dialog box before closing multiple / inactive tabs in Google Chrome.

How To Install "Windows Close Protector Extension" On Google Chrome

  1. Download latest version of Google Chrome from here. Google Chrome v4.0 and above have the support to run extensions and Greasemonkey scripts.
  2. Download Windows Close Protector Extension from here
  3. After installation is complete, restart Google Chrome

Ur done! Now you will get warning before closing multiple tabs in Google Chrome.

    Chrome has severely damaged their product and I think reputation by refusing to add even the option of such a confirmation. How hard to add a checkbox in the options to enable/disable this function ... not at all - it takes sheer arrogance to 'force' their preference on us. It was after about the fourth time of accidentally closing the window that I threw it in the bin. There are only so many times you will re-log into your bank and email sites before you get f&^%ed off.

    Having to install some plugin to fix this is a pain, especially since it should be unnecessary. Hopefully Google developers will get off their high horse one day.

    It is not user friendly at all without this function build in and the close button is so damn closer to others button that causing accidentally press easily.

    This is a shame, the chrome programmers doesn't built this function into the browser. A lot of people asked it.
