iPhone 4.0 Firmware Features / Details

Apple is holding its much awaited Latest Creation event on January 27th. Release of Apple Tablet/iTablet and iPhone Firmware 4.0 is expected in this event; however, iPhone 4.0 firmware details are leaked before the event, guys at BoyGeniusReport managed to grasp some details about iPhone 4.0 OS through an inside Apple contact.

Here are few details share by them:

  • There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide.
  • "A few new ways" to run applications in the background - this would fall in multitasking category.
  • Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient.
  • The update will only be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS.
  • A brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

All of these are new feature are very interesting and appealing, but we can't say with indemnity that these features will be available in upcoming 4.0 firmware, till we hear something official from Apple on Jan, 27th.

    Firmware 3.1.3 isn't much of a success for jailbreak people. A lot of issues. I am waiting for Firmware/OS 4.0 big time. I hope the tools like Pwnage/Unltrasnow/Blacksnow for jailbreaking and unlocking Firmware 4.0 would be more stable and successful.
