There are number of portable apps available for Ubuntu (Linux) but most of them are in ".RUNZ" format which is not recognized by Ubuntu until you install a specific framework for it. As a matter of fact .RUNZ file is just like .EXE files in Windows and .DMG files in Mac. So whenever you will open any file with .RUNZ extension, it will launch an application directly, without any installation via terminal or package installer.
Follow these simple steps to open files with .RUNZ file type
Download RUNZ framework 0.8.9.8 for Ubuntu [Check latest version from here]
Save the above .deb file to your desktop and then double click on it to install it via Package Installer.

Package Installer - .RUNZ

Installation Finished
