As we have already discussed, the RTM is one of the most important milestone in the software release cycle and is mostly the responsible to be the final deal in most cases.
In case of Windows 7, the build 7600 was signed off as an RTM contender and after much testing and validation checks, was passed on and declared as the RTM build to manufacturers.
Over 10 million people helped in beta-testing Windows 7 through the beta to the RTM build using the Customer Experience Improvement Program. The RTM code for Windows 7 will be delivered to Microsoft partners which will then work on it to get their products ready for the General Availability on October 22nd.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
