If you are addicted to YouTube and also a Google Chrome fan, then here is a small trick through which you can download videos from YouTube easily. Here is a small plugin developed by a fan of Google Chrome which will help you to download videos from youtube in MP4 [HD] as well as FLV format. The script works pretty well in other browsers too. The advantage of this method is that you can also download youtube videos with the help of download accelerator.

I have tested this method in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer but i will explain it with reference to Google Chrome, you may also use the same method for Firefox and Internet Explorer

If you already have installed Google Chrome then jump to step 4

1. First download Google Chrome.
2. Install Google Chrome on your local hard drive.
3. If you want the portable version of chrome then Click here.
4. Make sure your Bookmarks Bar is always visible [Click Menu->Tools->Always show bookmarks bar]

If dragging fails then you can manually create a bookmark

Right click on the bookmarks bar and choose Add page...

You will be prompted for values in Name and URL field

Hit OK and you will see a Download button on your bookmarks bar. Now go to any YouTube video and click on the Download button. Now click on the respective format you want to download, you will be asked where you want to save the video. Hit save to download video.

You can also use download accelerator in chrome to download videos which will speed up the download process.
