On April 6 and 8, 2009, the WiMAX Forum granted Motorola WiMAX certification in the 2.5 GHz frequency band for two CPEs and one Wireless Access Point (WAP). The following Motorola products are now WiMAX Certified: CPEi 25150 (data only), CPEi 25750 (data +VoIP), WAP 25600. These products should now be referred to as "Wave 2 Compliant" rather than Wave 2 Ready.

For network operators, the formal certification of product brings a greater range of options and flexibility to their networks, creating new seamless roaming opportunities for end users.

In addition, Motorola's 3.5 GHz CPEs will be submitted for WiMAX Forum certification as "sister products" of the already certified 2.5 GHz products, paving the way for all Motorola WiMAX indoor and outdoor CPEs to be Wave 2 certified. Good News for Motorola!
